I have the loveliest shoot for all of you dreamers out there today… Andy and Adam are the sweetest couple along with beautiful Buster – and their story is so romantic! They told me they met one night in a bar and hit it off instantly. “We broke all the rules and within a month we were living together. 4 months in, and Buster our baby (puppy) came along into our lives, and the rest is history as they say! Exactly 8 years after we met, we tied the knot and we’re currently preparing to embark on a honeymoon of a lifetime…
The proposal arrived from Adam on NYE 2012, after the fireworks rang in on a white sandy beach in Thailand… but, the fun stopped there!… Adam had borrowed the proposal ring and shortly lost it in the sand… 2 hours of searching for it went by, thankfully in the end the ring was found! We headed to a small local jeweller the next day, where we had personalised sterling silver rings made on the island where Adam proposed.
The wedding was small and intimate, in a stunning Georgian villa, with only 40 of our closest family and friends to share the magical day. Gourmet food, live acoustics and lots of free pouring champagne left everyone with full hearts, full stomachs and a dizzy head the next day!
We felt so sad that Laura couldn’t make our wedding as she was in Mexico for another!, and instead we devised a pre-wedding shoot, that would incorporate oysters and a sail where we live in Brighton…
let’s just say, we no longer eat oysters!…
Adam’s clumsiness didn’t end at losing and re-finding the ring in Thailand! He also managed to almost cut his thumb off during the shoot, after I asked him to shuck the oysters, and he choose a butchers’ knife!! (Don’t do that at home!). Our photographer Laura calmly proclaimed we needed to visit A&E, and off I went with Adam… we luckily made it back to the boat in more or less one piece and carried on as normal… can you tell Adam’s hiding his hand in every picture?

Our honeymoon isn’t what everyone expected…
Both living as central as you can get in the UK, our sailing adventure seems an odd one, yet our love for adventure and the ocean pulled us down to the south coast. You can call it fate or you can call it coincidence, but career opportunities, and a will to save for the big sailing trip opened up, and located us in Brighton. A year of hard work, and renovating the boat to prepare her for her maiden voyage, we are ready to tackle the English Channel and Bay of Biscay with Buster stowed safely below to spend 6 months anchored up along the Spanish and Italian coastlines.
We cannot wait to set sail and start our journey as husbands, sharing in multiple moonlit skies whilst at anchor, nothing but the ocean and each other to listen to. A true blissful escape from the fast-paced life we surround ourselves with today.
