This space is the most amazing I’ve seen in a long time – a blank canvas wedding venue in a league all of its own. Gorgeous Nicole & Samuel were married at The Winding House in June, styled their day with elegance and simple homemade touches, and chose lovely Kerry Ann Duffy as their wedding photographer.
“Our venue was such a unique building with its painted white bricks, vintage wood and green trees and banks. THE perfect location and back drop for our wedding. The ridiculously high ceilings made the ceremony feel chapel like which was amazing. Especially with our music playing during the ceremony. The owners Vicki and Paul would do anything for you and go above and beyond to help achieve the best day.
I made bunting galore, so easy and enjoyable to make. I made the table plan, and tree decoration that hung over the top table.
Greta at The little cake company did the most amazing job on our wedding cake, which looked and tasted great. She had so many flavours to choose from. We went fruit, lemon drizzle and banoffee for the top tier (which our dogs stole and ate off the kitchen side post wedding)[!]
Our wedding was a perfect day, filled with amazing family, big laughs & lots of love.
Wedding photographer’s website:
After lots of research and searching, we finally found our perfect photographer! We could tell from her previous work that she was perfect for our venue, theme and for us!
Kerry Ann Duffy is a beautiful person and she creates and shoots beautiful photos! What more could any bride & groom wish for! Her work is simply stunning.
Kerry captured every detail of our wedding in her way and the results were wonderful. Planning a wedding is hard, time consuming and stressful, so much effort and detail goes in and I’m pleased to have a wedding album that reminds me of the perfect day my husband and I achieved together with our families.

What’s your top tip for saving money?
Have a budget and research well. Be strict with your self and sort the important bits to you first. If you overspend on those you can then cut back on the bits not as important.
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
Photographer, entertainment and food!
Wheelers oyster bar from Whitstable did our food and it was out of this world.
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
I made it myself with the help of our print department at work. Ideas from Pinterest
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Absolutely and every time I put it on I fell it love with it all over again. Felt amazing in it on the day, exactly how a bride should feel.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
I borrowed my mums vintage diamond and gold necklace as it went perfect with my dress and meant a lot to us both. I had a hair vine handmade by ivy and pearl bridal. It contained Freshwater pearls, Swarovski Crystals, silver plated wire and Crystals. Too pretty to be true.
And what did the groom wear?
Aw he looked the best! I couldn’t wait to marry him. All the groomsmen looked incredibly smart. Blue suits with grey waistcoats and spotty navy ties and bow ties. They were from Well Suited in Dartford.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
The three adult bridesmaid wore a beautiful blue dressed with lace tops from Asos. The two flower girls wore pale pink with cream lace overlay.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
My hair was done by Abbie at Take2 and make up by Tina at the same company, the pair of them worked miracles! I looked and felt great!
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
The flowers were stunning! So many different types of roses! With a hint of blue, they really were beautiful.
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
Our ridiculously clever and amazing magician, Spencer wood! Everyone should have one! He was (apart from the bride and groom) star of the day!
The band went down really really well with our guests, Hullabaloo! They were brilliant!
