Join me on the 6th of April for a modern calligraphy workshop in Manchester!
This time next week I’ll be on my way to sunny Manchester, pens and inks in my little bag, ready to meet lovely creative folks and teach them the basics of modern calligraphy. It’s one of my favourite things, and I’m excited already (I’ve started packing. A week early. I know!!) February’s calligraphy workshop sold out super quick, so I wanted to let you know the details for April as soon as I could!
Spring is the busiest time for my calligraphy classes – brides and grooms (and bridesmaids… and mums) choose this time of year to start practising their writing in readiness for designing wedding invitations to send before the summer kicks in. Handcrafted is still a great cost-saving option for crafty brides, and calligraphy is so on trend for 2018! Also, learning how to write beautiful modern calligraphy is a skill you’ll keep and use for life…
I’m holding five modern calligraphy workshops in 2018 in Manchester’s uber cool Northern Quarter. There are still places available from April onwards and I’d love to invite you along. They’re on Friday and Saturday afternoons, starting at one o’clock and finishing around half past three. The price is £65 and every attendee gets to keep their calligraphy ‘kit’ to take home and play with.
I teach all the basics you’ll need for writing calligraphy for your wedding: how to form letters and words with a looping, flowing script full of the thick and thin contrasts which really make modern lettering beautiful. With a little practice at home you’ll be able to write your invitations, place names, escort cards, menus, table plan and any paper signage for your day.
Book your calligraphy workshop places here!
If you’d like to come and learn calligraphy with me I’ll be delighted to see you there.
Please book early, as we have been selling out workshops pretty fast! Everything you need to know is here – booking is online and super simple.
I’ll bring along my little pop-up shop as well, so you can buy coloured inks, spare (and interesting!) nibs and pens, and my very own book, An Introduction to Modern Calligraphy, on the day. Don’t forget to bring some extra pennies with you!
