A wedding planner once told me to think of wedding styling as one end of a see-saw: the other end holding all your guests, and in the centre your virtual piggy bank. Slide more money towards inviting more guests, and you’ll lose some of your styling budget. But if styling is all important to you, slide your piggy bank in the other direction by inviting only your very closest friends and family to your wedding ceremony.
Today’s style edit is pure luxe, and transforms beautifully from day into night: I love it. The florals are divine: opulent and free, with a gentle mix of colours which really come into their own in the breathtaking candlelight. The palette shifts from palest blues with gold accents in the daytime, through to more corals and yellows which bask in the golden glow of the candles as night falls.
Recreate this look with fabulous florals if your budget will allow. It’s incredibly beautiful, and the styling touches from Sadauf at The Wedding Fairy are blowing our minds here at English Wedding HQ! For couples on a tighter budget or with a larger guest list, take the colours and ideas you love from this blog post, and incorporate them into your day more sparingly: style a display table then use single blooms for dining tables, or use as many glass vases with floating candles as you can afford in little clusters on your tables.
Choose calligraphy to add elegance to your day: either through hiring a wedding calligrapher to create your paper goods, or by attending a modern calligraphy workshop and learning how to write calligraphy in your very own style. Speaking of which… the lovely photographer who submitted this feature for the blog is Zehra Jagani, who I had the absolute pleasure of meeting at one of my own calligraphy workshops last year. I was delighted to write some pieces especially for this shoot, but it was even more wonderful to see Zehra’s own beautifully written ”Sparkle with love” favour in rose gold ink proudly sat on the tables (I’ve included a close up shot below because it looks fabulous)!
The amazing group of suppliers who put together today’s inspiration feature are all based in the North West. See the end of the feature for a full list, and do consider booking them for your own wedding day!
