Love Made Me Do It! Rock chick woodland wedding inspiration, with HBA Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

So here’s something a little different for your Friday lunchtime. Wedding blogs can get a little too consistently pretty… all those white dresses and delicate styling touches… and an occasional reminder that it’s OK to be different is a good thing, right?!

Last Wednesday we shared HBA Photography‘s pretty, boho inspired wedding inspiration feature in bluebell woods. (If you missed it, catch up here.) The same shoot explored a more creative, brilliantly alternative look later in the day, and the behind the scenes film we showed last week hinted at a cape of flowers.

The second part of the shoot was about making time to be creative, really being inspired by the environment. Ben had noticed a raggedy part of woodland on a previous visit, much less romantic and far more rock n roll. Our second model Suki looks the epitome of rock chick chic and we added in a touch of atmospheric smokey background tinged with just the right amount of neon! Owning the ASOS dress in the process, she performed the most effortless transition in the blink of an eye, and morphed into an almost elfin like vision in a pink lace dress, flower crown and floral cuffs. Not forgetting her companion Scampi dog, who co-ordinated perfectly with her own custom-made floral collar!

Finally Ben was keen to make the most of the bluebells, showing that this stunning landscape was not only perfect for a woodland wedding, but also as a magnificent backdrop for creativity!

With that in mind Ben briefed Nadia with his idea and they set to work to create an image. A single shot where the landscape meets the model – and so the living cape, growing from the ground up was fashioned around the very regal and simply stunning Soraya. And she wore it so well!

(We’re not suggesting you call your florist right now and order a flower cape (although, how awesome would that be?!) but as it’s Friday we recommend injecting a little rock n roll into your wedding plans. Go on – we dare ya!)
