If you want a wedding with a taste of tropical paradise then look no further than Amy Mair Couture’s 2018 collection La Selva.

Amy Mair is a designer known for taking inspiration from her love of nature and travel. La Selva, meaning tropical forest in Spanish, pays tribute to the discrete, subtle tropical and exotic influences that were the inspiration behind her third bridal collection for the Rachel Burgess Bridal Boutique.

Using colour, texture and cut she creates unique and subtly non-traditional gowns which still retain a luxurious glamour. Each gown prides itself of being something a little different, not to be seen anywhere else in the bridal market.

The 2018 La Selva Collection comprises four gowns; Marianna, Sophia, Isabella and Fiorella.

Fiorella oozes romance. A simple silk slip is overlaid with nude tulle, embroidered with stunning flowers, stems and leaves. The large flowers begin at the shoulder travelling down the dress, angling round the body in blush and pale tones of coral. Blending seamlessly with the nude tulle, the striking flower shape is defined with an embroidery stitch and glass beads.

Mariana exudes glamour. A simple ‘v’ necked slip, mirrored from the front to back, it is overlaid with beautiful pearl tulle. With its scattered pearl tulle and 1930’s inspired diamond motif the overlay fastens at the centre with a lovely drape and layering of volume from pleats at the waist

Sophia is a sophisticated, elegant gown, perfect for brides who want to embody their curves. With biased cut satin, it glides and smooths over the body. Its plunging neckline is balanced with a delicate diamanté and pearl trim to highlight the under bust empire shape.

Isabella has an ethereal air. It features an exquisitely intricate guipure lace floral motif, sewn over the shoulder seam of soft ivory English cotton tulle. The sleeve is edged with a delicate trim and is a cross between a fluted sleeve and caped wing, reflecting the volume in the fuller circular skirt. The underlay features the Luna slip, an interchangeable piece made of silky soft satin, cut on the bias in a simple silhouette.
