I’m thrilled – more than I can say – to be welcoming lovely Surrey wedding planner and stylist Jenna Hewitt to the English Wedding Blog today. A firm believer in doing things your way, rather than the ‘done’ way, I love nothing more than to avoid the predictable and I work hard to design celebrations with originality and your personality.

I have always been a huge fan of the English Wedding Blog and Claire’s passion for bringing together content that is real, relevant and resonates with readers.  That’s why I am extremely excited to be invited to write a monthly guest piece!

From the moment Claire and I first got chatting, I knew that I wanted to write something that you could connect with and that would be really useful and helpful.

I witness the highs, lows and spectrum of emotions that go hand in hand with planning your perfect day (even the most relaxed bride-to-be will experience them, I promise!).

It got me thinking about a monthly piece to follow the journey of planning one of my real life weddings.  A monthly piece inspired by what I’ve been working on with one of my couples and what we’ll be working on next.  An honest piece that captures real planning exactly as it happens (including the parts that don’t always quite go ‘to plan’ and how I handle them) and a piece that captures the thoughts and feelings of actual people going through the same thing as you.

A year in the life… a brand new English Wedding Blog feature

Across the next 12 months I’ll be talking “a year in the life of planning a wedding” as I work with Hannah and Ben.  Hannah and Ben get married in summer next year and have very kindly agreed to me writing about them.

Like many of my couples, Hannah and Ben needed a wedding planner not because they aren’t capable of planning a wedding – they simply don’t have the capacity.  They own their own business, work crazy schedules and have 5 children between them.  They needed a ‘sanity saver’ to hand them the gift of time!

With a specific July weekend wedding date in mind (to fit around said busy schedules, not to mention school holidays and the fact that Ben has family flying in from the USA) the first task was to find the ‘perfect’ wedding venue.

That’s exactly what I’ll be kicking off with in my first piece in a couple of weeks.  I’m really looking forward to it!
