This exceptional styled shoot was put together by a group of extremely talented and inspirational East Midlands Wedding specialists. In collaboration with Honeysuckle & Castle, the main objective was to launch and represent the two different styles of outdoor wedding receptions on offer at the magnificent Hardwick Hall. Built by Bess of Hardwick, this historic National Trust Elizabethan Palace is a hidden gem of a wedding venue. It is elegantly set within luscious acres of extensive parkland and fine gardens that overlook the rolling beautiful Derbyshire countryside. The atmospheric Great Entrance Hall is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships, followed by a magical outdoor reception fit for a Queen in the exclusive East Court Garden and quaint Wine Glass Meadow.
Two equally stunning styles were featured in this shoot. To showcase the diversity of this awesome venue, one was created in a tipi and the other in a marquee, which we’ll feature on the English Wedding Blog in a couple of weeks! Both tents were nestled at the rear of the Hall and encapsulated what a happy couple could achieve on their wedding day.
Our bride looked exquisite in an ivory lace, statement keyhole back gown from Lori G. This gown made a dramatic impact with its contouring cutouts, puddle train and fine bead work. Her hair looked perfect with loose pin curl waves, teamed with a soft smoky eye and pinched cheek blush by Tamla & Danielle Paskovas of Lily Monroes. The groom was dashing in a bespoke suit from Brigdens.
The captivating shots were produced by the delightful duo, Humpston and Bull. Their relaxed, creative style was exactly what we were looking for. The essence of the shoot was also captured in motion by the fabulously talented Jason Lynch.
The inspiration behind the styling and theme in the tipis from was ‘magical starry skies’, but with a slight regal edge to keep a subtle connection to the grand location. There was elegance in the bold use of a navy blue and gold colour palette. This teamed perfectly with the warmth and magic of the tipis’ beautifully twinkling fairy lights and the flicker of candle light, with star constellation elements.
For the tablescape we wanted to stay simple with gold chargers and cutlery, white plates, and elegant gold glassware from Whitehouse Event Crockery. The navy linens represented the night sky and acted as the backdrop for the fine calligraphy place cards and menu cards from Violet Skies. Together, this all beautifully set the tone to this magnificent shoot.
We ran rich navy table runners from Pumpkin Events, teamed with lengths of lush eucalyptus and other foliage by Wild Thyme Florist & Styling down the centre of the rustic bench tables. In the form of a large star constellation hanging feature, Wild Thyme also created a focal point in one of the peaks’ of the Tipis above the banquet style tables. Height was achieved on the tables with several large, tall vessels, full to the brim with a mix of crisp white floras and foliage, including hellebores and David Austin roses.
An interesting array of zodiac inspired cakes and treats were baked and displayed by The Pink Cake Box, including a show-stopping four tier starry night creation.
