We are surrounded by technology and every day it assists us more and more, even with wedding planning. There are apps for keeping on top of your guest list, designing your table plan, to do lists and of course social media for sharing your images and seeing the photographs your guests take. However, the speed in which technology evolves also comes with risks, and it’s those risks that are one of the big reasons we are so passionate about wedding albums.
Many of you are old enough to remember floppy discs, where did they go?! Then there was the fact that every laptop had a CD drive and now as we move into more mobile devices, some don’t even have a USB drive. So what does this mean for your wedding images? Digital only collections are still in high demand, however you run the risk of your wedding images being stuck on a device that one day becomes obsolete.
Your wedding images are a snapshot of your special day, they represent the months of planning that went into it, the laughter, the moments, the memories. So they deserve to be showcased in something tangible. This is where our true passion for wedding albums comes to life, seeing your wedding images beautifully printed on the highest quality fine art paper, bound in the most exquisite cover and packaged up with the highest attention to detail. Your wedding and the images deserve the best.
A wedding album allows you to look back on your wedding day for generations to come and to share those memories with friends and family. Telling your story in beautiful colour and not stuck in a drawer never to come out again unless Facebook reminds you in the “on this day” update! I have clear memories of looking at my Mum and Dad’s wedding album, and whilst Hutch and I got married only four years ago, we take our wedding album out each anniversary and look through it. Taking that trip down memory lane and reliving our favourite moments.
A wedding album isn’t just a luxury that one day you will get round to sorting, it’s a must have. After the cake has been eaten, the music has stopped and the wedding dress is packed away in a box, it’s your wedding album that helps keeps those memories alive.
Nearly all professional wedding photographers will offer wedding albums as part of their service, and some, like us, offer the option of adding your album on to your booking at a later date. You can even add gift vouchers to your wedding list from us so that your wedding guests can buy your album, after all, your one year anniversary is paper!
Until next time,
