So many of our wedding trends begin in the US. We fell in love with ranch weddings, escort cards, and then calligraphy – big time – which is brilliant! But sometimes I stop, and I wonder why on earth we need that American influence when English weddings are so incredibly inspiring. Take today – Leah & Alex are just sooo stylish; their venue has aeons of history and character to it, and the day looks to be the most amazing party…

“Leah & Alex were amazing to work with. From the first meeting at my local where they’d come all the way from London I knew we were a perfect match. To return the favour I went down to London for their pre wedding shoot at Kew gardens; they had their first date there, got engaged there and as well as the PWS the wedding theme was all about the gardens. I knew after taking those photos in sweltering June sun (You can see them here http://www.vickerstaffphotography.co.uk/kew-gardens-london-pre-wedding-portraits/) that they were going to be a dream to photograph…… I was spot on.
Apart from some morning emotions from Leah just after she got ready the day was super relaxed, super stress free and super awesome. It was so much fun to photograph and be a part of. Leah’s mum giving a speech was one of the most memorable parts of the day for me; I’ve never heard Shakespeare, Keats, Mother Teresa & Gandhi quoted in a wedding speech before!
Arley Hall is well known for being a cracking venue; they have the old house, barns and gardens so if it’s raining who cares – there’s loads of places to go. We got caught out in a shower and hid in a building in the gardens until it passed, it made for one of my favourite shots of their portraits.
Never, ever, think rain is going to ruin your day – it’s all a state of mind guys!
“We LOVE the photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously they moved me to tears and laughter and we adore how you have captured the details and emotion of every stage of the day.
The ones in the gardens and the group shots in the library are particular favourites but all are incredible. My favourites album is 244 and counting…..
You have been incredible to work with throughout this whole thing and we could not be happier that we found you.
Both on the day and at Kew you’ve given us such precious memories.
We are already thinking of the next occasion we can think of to have you photograph us again. Thank you thank you thank you!!!” ~ Leah and Alex
