Our last wedding of the year – tons of #weddinginspo with Nicola and Gary’s gorgeous English countryside wedding in Somerset

Hey there lovely! Have you had a lovely first week of 2017? Hasn’t it flown by… For those of you heading back to work on Monday, do please take a little of the English Wedding Blog with you in your heart. We publish something new every day at 1pm – and we have some fabulous features planned for next week to keep your minds full of gorgeousness and wedding ideas (instead of boring old work! Stay excited by coming here in your lunch break on Monday, do!)

For today though, I wanted to share a wedding from last summer which makes me smile. And smile. And keep on smiling all day. Gorgeous bride Nicola is what every bride should be: smiling, beaming, full of happiness and so, so beautiful for it. Her wedding to Gary is full of fabulous florals and pretty ideas for an English summer wedding. Drop what you’re doing, grab a cuppa and scroll slowly through this beautiful day. You may Pin, share and grin with delight as you go along… it’s positively encouraged! Have a wonderful day and a fabulous weekend! Claire

We wanted a really informal wedding with a vintage happy feel to it. And we got it ? We found our suppliers on Facebook, the English Wedding Blog, and local information.

Our flowers are by Kate at Windmill Farm Flowers. They were the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. So perfect and effective. The naked cake fitted the wedding style so well – and the decoration is fabulous. It was made by the Exclusive Cake Company, Dulverton.

To say that Gary is my husband is the best feeling, to know that we are both complete.

We both felt really strongly about having most things local for our wedding, so we researched the local area and found lovely Jade Nott Photography. She came from Tiverton which is where Gary grew up. We met her and we knew straight away that she was the one for us. Jade was just so warm and lovely, and we just knew we would be so comfortable with her photographing our special day.

Jade was absolutely phenomenal. We wanted photos that weren’t necessarily posed, and ones that captured special moments. We adore every single one of them.

I fell in love with my wedding dress! It was the most perfect dress and everything I wanted!! I had it designed and chose all the fabric. It really is the most magical dress.

We’ll be back at lunchtime tomorrow with some ideas for your 1st dance song (and I promise – they’re not what you’ll expect!) based on other couples’ choices. Don’t miss out – have a fabulous Friday in the meantime though. Love & hugs, Claire
