As we nestle further into our chunkiest knits and wrap our hands around mugs of steaming hot chocolate here at English Wedding Blog HQ I have just a couple of inspirational features to share with you before Christmas. It’s been an amazing year; I’m still full of the joys of the festive season and that’s very much thanks to the guys at Aspire Photography Training. Our last shoot of 2016 was full of winter wonderfulness and I simply had to share some of these ideas with you before we break up!
Catherine (White Feather & Co.) – stylist, business mentor and the most inspirational person I know – chose pine branches and eucalyptus stems alongside brass candlesticks and copper cutlery to create a winter tablescape; warmer tones contrasting with the foliage beautifully. Bouquets were styled by the fabulous Katie at Made in Flowers.
You simply can’t have a winter wedding without an amazing photographer, and Jenny Heyworth is up there with the best I know. She has the most romantic, atmospheric style to her images and trains photographers as part of her work at Aspire. You can discover more from Jenny here:

The brides are out of this world beautiful, with warm smoky eyes and fabulous up dos by lovely Lucy Pearson. I adore the simplicity and grace of the bridal gowns by Jesùs Peiró (from The White Closet) – in the enchanting gardens at Graythwaite they look divine and are a perfect style for winter days. Delicate wooden stars add a touch of Hygge to the tables (a huge theme for 2017) while branches and wreaths adorn the mantelpiece and walls.
I chose a wintry palette for the calligraphy stationery and little quotes dotted around the venue.
There’s a certain warmth to handmade watercolour papers which I love; teamed with palest blue and white-sage inks they work beautifully for a winter wedding.
Olive stems hand painted on the stationery added a touch more colour; our canvas showcase piece uses an olive branch wreath to frame one of my favourite winter quotes.

I’ve long been a fangirl of the awesome Typical Type. The festoon lighting in the gardens was truly magical; the light up letters in the main hall looked incredible. There are no words to adequately tell you how beautiful they can be – but do, if you need more light in your life over these winter months, follow them on every social media channel you can find!
