2017 will be a wonderfully creative year for weddings – I’m seeing influences from the art world wherever I look, and the artists and designers in the UK wedding industry are reaching new levels of amazingness every single day. I love this – shot with true artistic flair, By Harriet launches her beautiful collection of luxe handcrafted accessories in blinding style!

The Cornucopia shoot styling was inspired by a combination of two different artistic influences, the postors of Mucha and the paintings of the PreRaphaelites. The romantic, delicate and dreamy nature of the designs by Harriet seemed to be crying out to be presented in this way, so we rifled through my books (I’ve always been a bit of an art history boffin) to look at the shapes, flowers colours and styles, and see how they could be presented for modern brides to complete their look.
We (By Harriet, Photography By Ally Byrom, Victoria Farr Makeup & Hair, and Floral Lounge) have collaborated on a number of projects both for shoots and for real brides and love working together as a team, and are thrilled with the results and wanted to share them.
Victoria created a beautiful sheer, understated, porcelain finish on model Charley and worked her magic with long vivid auburn tresses adding curls and loose braids to complete the romantic pre raphaelite look.
Sarah from the Floral Lounge kept the flowers very low key but in keeping with the motifs repeated throughout the Mucha postors, lilies and poppies being key. Ally did what she does best, captures magical images to showcase the collection in the most breathtaking way!

What lovely words Claire. This was a very exciting shoot and a clear example of what wonderful things emerge from a creative collaboration. From Harriet’s artistic vision to Victoria and Sarah’s gift for interpreting a brief perfectly to our stunning and charming model Charley who knows exactly how to bring it all together. My job was a breeze.
