Your wedding can have luxe styling, romantic florals and pretty details even with a more industrial, city backdrop. There’s something I really love about contrasting an urban setting with feminine decor, and today’s styled shoot is simply fabulous.

This styled shoot was inspired by the growing trend in urban feel weddings in London but with brides wanting to maintain that luxurious and stylish feel. Watercolour touches added softness to the industrial surroundings of Drake and Morgan at Kings Cross through the use of silk linens, stunning stationery and a beautifully water colour painted cake.
The use of herbs again brought a softer feel to the venue but also bought the outside in, something that can be important to brides if the venue they choose does not have its own green outdoor space.
The use of herbs in wedding bouquets dates back to ancient Greece where they were used to ward off evil spirits. However more recently herbs were used to mainly provide scent, but also to convey hidden messages and meanings (It was the Victorians who really developed this idea).
In the table garland we used bay (glory), rosemary (remembrance, and memories of loved ones) and thyme (courage and strength).
In the bridal bouquet there was mint (virtue), flowering marjoram (joy and happiness) scented geranium (true friendship) and lavender (devotion). And wow did it smell amazing!
Our bride and groom were elegantly dressed and the flowing movement and jewelled details within the dress (from Kate Edmondson) really showcased the desire of the modern London bride to look stylish and beautiful on her big day.
We had an absolute dream team of suppliers working with us on this shoot –
