Sarah and Alex’s wedding day was one of immense joy, love and intimacy. As Sarah walked down the aisle there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, the emotion on Alex’s face said it all. Sarah is a life long friend of mine, and so my heart was soaring for her all day.
What came across with great gentleness and beauty was the sweetness of their faith, the depth of their love and the kindness of their family. There were some precious and tender moments with grandparents, which hold special place in my heart.
Visually, the bouquets were stunning. I am a great lover of floral design and these had clearly been put together with great care and thoughtfulness. The soft pastels are delicate and compliment the bridesmaid dresses. (Florist: The Flower Studio)
They also married in the spring, the colours were starting to come out and we were lucky enough to spontaneously catch the may blossom in Pittville Park for some portrait photos.
Trinity Church, Cheltenham is a beautiful church steeped in history but with a contemporary and welcoming feel. I am fond of this church on a personal level, for as a young girl I used to take part in school nativity plays here and in teenage years reconnected again. It has recently been beautifully renovated to create a light and airy space. I loved shooting here, and would do it again in a flash.
Sarah and Alex’s reception was in the sweet village of Bredon, in the village hall. (http://bredonvillagehall.org.uk/) It’s just on the border of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire and is nestled between rolling hills. Friends and family gathered for some incredibly tasty food. The atmosphere was relaxed and they even had a bouncy castle in one of the rooms! The sunlight in the main room, where the wedding breakfast was held, was divine with sunbeams coming through the skylights in the late afternoon. They decorated it with pretty fairy lights, giving great vibes.
“Words cannot describe how delighted we are that Kate was able to do our photos. She got stuck in right from the start, capturing both the bridal party’s preparations and the groomsmen’s arrival at the church with efficiency, passion and style. It was so lovely to have her with us capturing the mile stones of the day, by being a smiling face and a solid encouraging presence, often one step ahead of everyone else. Without trying she managed to put us at ease with the assurance of knowing she was there. She had met with us before hand to discuss which shots were most important to us and the practicalities for the day, creating an atmosphere calm and tranquility from the start. We had no doubt she would capture the vibrant flavour of the day and she exceeded expectations in every way.
When we looked at our photos for the first time, we couldn’t believe how beautiful they looked. Not only had Kate managed to flawlessly capture the most significant and celebratory moments of the day, but she also displayed her talent for capturing the most wonderful private and intimate moments between us and our guests.
For ourselves the day was such a rollercoaster, when we first saw the photos it felt like kate had captured pieces of treasure that we hadn’t been able to witness due to our own whirlwind perspective of the day. We couldn’t be happier with these magical memories that will stay with us forever.” ~ Alex and Sarah xxx
P.S. we mean every word, and wish we were better able to express how grateful we are for these photos. xx
