Today’s wedding will have you grinning happily at your screen and pinning to your heart’s content! I love the evening shots with all the sunshine – in fact the whole wedding looks fabulous. (I didn’t know that many people could get on the roof of a Landrover…!!) More to the point though, I love the festival vibe, the details shots of the flowers, bunting and sparkly lights. I adore Aimee and Tom – they look gorgeous, and amazing together. This is wedding blog gold, guys!

This was the sort of wedding which as photographer I call a gift – an incredibly happy couple, a stunning venue, and above all a really relaxed and fun feel where the day just flows, and magical moments continuously present themselves. Aimee and Tom were so happy together, and the atmosphere was infectious, with all their young friends having such a good time. I felt completely absorbed in the day, and stayed right till the end!
The venue is Wilkswood wedding venue – www.wilkswood.co.uk . It is a pop up venue which is available through the summer months, and as a result it always appears fresh, and bespoke to every couple.
I absolutely love this venue, perched on top of a hill, with views over the Purbeck hills, and steam trains on the Swanage Railway passing in the field below. The huge field allows plenty of room for camping all weekend, allowing the guests to really make a festival weekend of it, which is a brilliant idea, and some rather nice glamping tents are available as well. It just feels like summer!
I always research my venues thoroughly, and a short walk from the marquee was this magnificent buttercup meadow, which I just had to use for sunset. Aimee and Tom were keen, and we took a break from the reception, to give them time to spend their first quiet moments together. I always recommend this to couples as it is such precious time, and I like to observe from afar for the most natural interpretation of the moment. There is no posing, just pure happiness.
“From our first meeting with Robin, we knew immediately that he was the photographer for us. He was professional, he explained everything about his photography style clearly, showing us an impressive portfolio, but most of all he was fun!!! We were looking for someone who could let us be ourselves behind the camera, who made us feel relaxed and Robin did exactly that.
We had a pre wedding trial shoot at Badbury rings (where we had got engaged). Robin let us choose the location and he worked around us for dates and times, he was completely flexible which when you’re planning a wedding is extremely helpful and takes the pressure off!
When it came to the day Robin was amazing!! He floated around in the background capturing beautiful & creative shots from 9am til gone 11pm – he never put the camera down & this just adds to the proof that he’s completely passionate about what he does!! Also, one of our requests was to use sparklers in the evening in a few of the shots – which Robin rose to the challenge to do, nothing was too much trouble for him, amazing service!
Robin has captured the true fun, laughter & happiness of our day through his expertise & we are just thankful that we get to enjoy these images for the rest of our lives remembering what a fantastic day it was! Robin was absolutely brilliant to work with from start to finish & I will be recommending him to everyone I know!! The age old saying of “a picture is worth a thousand words” – well have a look at our wedding photos and like me, I’m sure you’ll be speechless!!” ~ Aimee & Tom
