There are too many things to love about Alex and Andrew’s wedding: the bride herself is stunning, her groom equally as gorgeous 🙂 The modern calligraphy lettering on their fabulous letterpress stationery is a winner for me instantly; the flowers are divine, and the styling of the day comes together so beautifully to create a fabulous English wedding.
The flowers are spectacular: “Adam Prest was our florist for the day, Katie and I met Adam a few weeks before the wedding and the whole experience was magical! Adam really has the gift of creating exactly what you have in mind with little direction. I wanted a woodland feel with pops of natural colour, Adam certainly exceeded our expectations.”

David told me, “Wynyard Hall is one of those venues that really gives you a pinch yourself moment as you arrive. It has a very opulent look with an air of elegance and romance whilst remaining inviting and comfortable. The grounds are just as beautiful as the interior, and with an 150 acre plot there are definitely plenty of back drops to choose from!”
“Alex is originally from the North East, but herself and Andrew now live together in Australia, and true to their new found Aussie personas the whole day had a relaxed and laid back attitude, which made photographing the day so much more fun. They seemed to bring a little bit of Australia home with them as everything about the day seemed to be golden and sun kissed, from Alex’s crown, to the details, even the light outside.”

Wedding photographer’s website:
How did you choose your photographer?
We live overseas so we enlisted the help of a local photographer to choose our photographer for the big day! We used google to narrow some options down and David West won hands down!
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
Absolutely, we have received so many wonderful compliments on the photographs and David on the day was perfect, very professional and a delight to be around!
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
We were very excited yet slightly nervous as the photos are very important to us. We had no reason to feel nervous as the photos were what we dreamed of and more!
Wynyard Hall, Cleveland
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
The most wonderful celebration of love with family and friends.
Your wedding style or theme:
We wanted a traditional wedding with a hint of nature.
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
We found a lot of our suppliers online and through social media channels.
What’s your top tip for saving money?
Spreadsheets, spreadsheets, spreadsheets! Make a commitment to the things you want to spend more on.
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
Photographer and Videographer! We wanted to capture the memories of the day to pass through the generations.
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
We designed our stationery in Sydney with The Distillery. They use the most amazing old letter press technique, which we fell in love with!
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Love at first sight! I always knew I wanted a simple understated dress, the dress I picked was perfect for me!
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
Jennifer Regan from her own boutique in Sydney.
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
My sisters bought me my necklace, earrings and necklace and presented them to me the night before the wedding. They are rose gold with pearls, simply beautiful!
Shoes were Jenny Packham, it was one of the harder things trying to find nice flat shoes!
I wore a custom Viktoria Novak crown, as soon as I seen Viktoria’s designs I knew I had to get married wearing one! It’s now a treasured family heirloom which I hope to pass onto a daughter one day!
And what did the groom wear?
Andrew wore a navy MJ Bale suit with a pink tie matched with tan Aquila shoes.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
My maid of honour Katie wore a navy cap sleeve embellished gown by Jadore Evening at White Runway.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
The lovely Sally at La Belle Vous did our hair and make-up
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
We simply decorated with the blooms Adam provided; Wynyard Hall is such an ornate building, we did not want to distract from the amazing architecture.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
Being slight perfectionists we didn’t make anything ourselves!
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
We both love nothing more than a cheese board so we decided on a cake made from wheels of cheese! Topped with a custom cake topper and decorated with fresh grapes.
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had a wonderful pianist playing the entrance of the Hall for when our guests arrived and for our reception we had a fabulous band called The Regulators! My cousin Jess also (little bit tipsy) got up with the band for a rendition of Tina Turner’s Rolling on the River!
