2016 must be the year of the barn wedding in the UK – I’ve seen so many amazing days from restored, converted, newly-loved barns – and Kim and Josh chose one of the very best for their rustic wedding in Gloucestershire. The photos are superb, and I especially love the bouquet… I’m loving all the greenery in bouquets right now! Kim is so beautiful – and there are some wonderful moments in here too. The first kiss shot is just perfect; and the venue is gorgeous.

“We really enjoy our time at Great Tythe Barn weddings and the staff and suppliers are always a delight to work with. It’s a stunning barn venue for a Gloucestershire wedding. The guest accommodation and the beautiful Manor House make it perfect for the bridal party to get ready on the day of the wedding. With everything enclosed in the same grounds as the barn, it means we can get to everyone effortlessly all day.” ~ Kevin Belson Photography
I hope you love this wonderful barn wedding as much as I do! Have the most wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Wedding photographer’s website:
How did you choose your photographer?
We met Kevin and Carol at a wedding fayre at the Great Tythe Barn. We liked their relaxed and friendly style (as did Josh’s mum!). We are not very confident with photographs and usually do our best to avoid them however we loved the photography style of Kevin and Carol and knew we were in safe hands. They have a relaxed photography style and capture the moment effortlessly.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We are so grateful to Kevin and Carol for providing us with the most amazing wedding photographs. From start to finish, they have been amazing and a pleasure to be around. The package included a pre engagement shoot which we loved as we were able to take our dog, Ted the bulldog along. He found an unusual amount of energy on the day and would not leave Kevin alone, however this did not faze him and he was still able to get the most incredible photographs. On our wedding day we hardly noticed that they were there as they are completely unobtrusive but they still captured the day perfectly. Having two photographers ensures that every angle is covered, we particularly liked the aisle shots as you could see both of our reactions, a single photographer could not achieve this. We cannot recommend them enough!

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
A relaxed day without too much fuss.
Your wedding style or theme:
Rustic / shabby chic
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
DIY table plan and order of service.
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
Dress – Pronovias – purchased from Lauren Charlotte Bridal in Cheltenham (accessories too). Charlotte was absolutely brilliant and the service I received was flawless and very personal. I received so many compliments on my dress which was obviously very nice to hear! 🙂
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
Shoes were Jenny Packham.
And what did the groom wear?
Suits were a three piece suit in navy with pink accessories (Ted Baker from Moss Bros).
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
Flower girls wore pink dresses and fur boleros from BHS.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
Hair – Sheena from Cheltenham – Sheena is an absolute perfectionist and did an amazing job. I am so glad I picked her. Make up – Katy Pheiffer – I cannot recommend her enough. I received so many compliments on my make-up and it remained perfect all day. The other guests who had their make-up done could not believe their transformations either and it has been a talking point since! 🙂
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Flowers were from Flowercraft in Newent. We had two jam jars wrapped in Hessian or lace containing flowers and a glass candle resting on slate with tea-lights around as our table decorations.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
We had glass jars containing fairy lights in different recesses around the barn. We also made the wine for the tables (which proved to be a little potent!) We also provided the sweet table which proved very popular.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
Pretty amazing cakes (and it certainly was!)
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
Steve Parker (DJ) Bryan Gunton magician
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
When we were wedding planning, the advice would often be to take time to absorb the day because it goes by so quickly. We really underestimated just how quickly the day would go, the morning was quite relaxed but once hair and make-up was complete, the day literally flew by. Our advice would be to not stress over the small things as they really do not matter. Try and take some time together on the day as you will be so busy trying to get around to all your guests that you have to remember one another.
