Yesterday we featured Verity and Tom’s intimate Chester wedding ceremony… so today I’m thrilled to be sharing the fabulous images from their wedding reception at Nunsmere Hall. The flowers are divine, Verity and her bridesmaids are beautiful and the guys look awesome too! They had a lovely blessing at a church in Tarporley, and then went onto the gorgeous Nunsmere Hall.
Wedding photographer Lucy (Clara Cooper Photography) told me, “This was one of the best weddings I shot this year, the people were wonderful, Verity & Tom were so in love, and they really did go ALL out, the flowers (just WOW), the table settings, even the absolutely stunning gifts, all engraved with a birch leaf, (Verity’s second name), the day was filled with personal touches which made it so special. The sun shone all day long, they had a live musician who was AMAZING and he played every instrument you can imagine. There were beautiful family portraits, champagne in the gardens, and a stunning wedding breakfast. Following this they partied hard into the night.”
“As a photographer I am very much immersed in a couple’s big day: I am there for all the big moments, the emotional ones, the happy ones, the hilarious ones and some damn right crazy ones! And with Verity & Tom’s wedding that is 100% the case, I was made to feel so completely welcome by all of their family and friends on both days. I was included in their gorgeous outdoor tea party on the Friday, and made to feel even more a part of their day on the Saturday. It felt like one big beautiful summer party which I was very much a part of. They as a couple were hilarious, adventurous and SO much fun, Verity was up for walking through the forest to capture any pictures I suggested, it was fab! And this definitely shows in the images. I had an absolute blast shooting their portraits, and their friends were absolutely amazing too, and so freaking funny. I can safely say that Verity & Tom’s wedding was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to!”
“Nunsmere Hall was a new venue for me last year, but it has definitely become one of my favourites. The location itself sold the venue to me instantly with the beautiful gardens and woodland surrounding it, rural wedding are my absolute favourites. Topped off with the incredible staff. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating and everything ran smoothly and efficiently which is key to any wedding! But for me, it was definitely the surroundings that made it so much more beautiful and special, the sun was shining all day long, there were drinks on the patio and some beautiful family portraits near the rose arch. Everything was perfect. Definite 10/10 from me as a photographer! And I am so pleased I have more this year!”

How did you choose your photographer?
Recommendation from a friend
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We were really happy with our photographer Clara Cooper who spent 2 days with us and were lucky to have Amy Faith as our second photographer on the Saturday. Clara fitted in to our celebrations very well and it felt like having additional guests taking our photos. This kept things relaxed and enjoyable and also meant that the photos really captured the fun of the day. She had some great ideas for where to shoot photos and was really conscious of making sure that the day didn’t revolve around posed photos but a good balance of the formal and informal.
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
Clara told us to make sure we were together with a glass of wine and a few hours! That was good advice as looking through the photos we could really relive the day and savour the memories of the weekend.
Nunsmere Hall, Delamere, Tarporley
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
A wonderful day celebrating our relationship with family and friends
Your wedding style or theme:
Fun with friends and family! Classic and natural…
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Recommendations from the venue and the wedding fayre at the venue and from friends.
What’s your top tip for saving money?
Actually we did our own wedding stationery and organised drinks reception at the Church after the wedding which allowed us to kick off the celebrations with great champagne without having to pay hotel prices. We also had a great big cake and brought our own cheese and biscuits from wholesalers for the evening food rather than doing evening catered food. Instax camera for informal shots rather than photo booth. Handheld video cam for the guests to use rather than videographer. High street bridesmaids dresses (in the sale!). We didn’t have any flowers at the Church (it was quite small and had its own character).
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
The flowers, which were exactly what we wanted (both venue and bridal party). Good suits that were comfy/well cut. Number of guests. Exclusive use of venue.
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
We designed it ourselves using images of where we got engaged and then had it printed at a local printers.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes, more than I expected!

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
I didn’t really wear that much jewellery, wanting the rings to be the main event. Shoes were high street and flat!
And what did the groom wear?
A moss bros classic tails suit.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
Beautiful Coast dresses that were mint/pastel green. We had to source these from far and wide as they were the end of a range but really suited everyone.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
Hair was by a friend / hairdresser that has done all oft girls hair for a long time. Make up by a local beautician.
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Our wedding flowers at the venue were by Debs at Living Colour – http://www.livingcolourflowers.co.uk/ – they were amazing! Our bridal party flowers were by Anne Kerfoot, we were lucky enough that she is a friend! http://www.anniekerfoot.co.uk/
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
No, just the flowers.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
We made Ferrero rocher “trees”, a photo board for the instax photos to go up on, A table plan on a trellis with lights. It was nice to have a balance of home made and supplied things.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
A 5 tier classic round cake, white with small white flowers on. The flavours were fruit, chocolate and Grand Marnier. We also had cupcakes including gluten free sponge. They were all from Supa Dupa Cakes – http://www.supadupacakes.co.uk/
