So here’s an unusual one – a venue which caught my eye as much as it did my imagination. And you know what? I love wedding venues which are different, unique – especially when they’re not dedicated wedding venues.
I’m always asking why wedding venues can’t afford decent chairs: if every restaurant in the land manages to have chairs which don’t need polyester covers, how come our top venues still have dodgy business chairs we have to pay to hide?! It makes me want to hire a proper restaurant instead; somewhere that just looks awesome. Oh! And here’s one…
06 St Chad’s Place is a restored Victorian warehouse, once a mechanic’s workshop and now a fabulous restaurant and live music venue. It’s available to hire on Saturdays and Sundays, and I featured Rosie and Jon’s gorgeous wedding reception there back in 2015.
They told me, “We loved the refurbished warehouse look of 6 St. Chad’s Place, it’s an inner city wedding, why fight it? They offered to hang some strings of lights, which was enough! Some giant ‘X’ ‘O’ balloons marked the entrance.”Images are by the very fabulous Jonny Donovan Photography.
