Morning my lovelies! Who’s excited about Christmas?!… if you’re breaking up today I hope you have a really good last day at work! Here’s a wonderful, glamorous wedding to brighten your morning. Sarah and Jon were married in Norfolk and celebrated with a fabulous reception at Kimberley Hall. Their photos are superb – Sarah even told me “I just loved them and I watched the slide show every day for about 2 weeks!”
Images are by Rob Dodsworth Photography, who is based in Norfolk. Do take the time to visit Rob’s website and blog – he’s pretty amazing:
Sarah’s dress has real wow factor – she told me it was most definitely ‘the one’! It’s certainly a perfect fit for such a fabulous venue. You’ll adore this wedding: the details are glamorous, fusing tradition and modern style like magic. The images are divine. Enjoy!

Wedding photographer’s website:
How did you choose your photographer?
I looked at photos I liked that had been taken at the venue and then I searched the web for them. I spent a lot of time choosing Rob but I am very happy I did.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
He was fab. When we spoke over the phone. I could tell what a nice guy he was. But the most important thing for me is that he did an amazing job and he did so I was happy.
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
I just loved them and I watched the slide show every day for about 2 weeks… tragic I know!!!!
Wymondham Abbey- which is a beautiful Abbey, when I was a child I lived opposite it and I was a choir girl there so it is a very special place for me.
Jon actually proposed outside the Abbey on Christmas Eve after my family had been to a carol concert which was very romantic.
Kimberley Hall- a country house/ manor with beautiful gardens.
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
Magical, traditional, classical, sparkles, fun, glamorous, pink, dancing, boozy, THE DRESS
Your wedding style or theme:
Rustic glamour (I think I made that up!! – Basically a country wedding with sparkly bits)
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Magazines, wedding show, blogs – everywhere – loooooooooooooooottttttttttts of research.
My band were awesome and I knew that as I had seen them at another wedding so I just messaged the bride and asked for the details – that is the best way to find your supplier if possible!!
What’s your top tip for saving money?
I didn’t stick to my budget – Opps!
But I saved on a few thing like my invites as I glued on diamonds myself.
I also would ask for discount on everything – Its worth asking!
Personally the one way you will save REAL money it to have less guests/ cheaper venue/ cheaper food/ booze as these are the expensive parts of your wedding. Saving £50 on a cake won’t make a huge difference to your budget (so I wouldn’t stress about the little things) however a cheaper caterer or cutting your guest list in half would save your thousands!!!!!!!!!
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
We made sure our guest had plenty of booze and food and it just meant everyone was very merry over dinner and so much laughter during the speeches and dancing all night!
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes it was amazing –the one!
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
Ronald Joyce – The Belle Angel, Norwich
And what did the groom wear? Any recommendations for tailors?
Moss Bross were amazing – can’t recommend them highly enough.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
They wore Dessy dressy in a ‘punch’ colour. I looked for dresses for about a year until I found them!
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
I had a professional to do mine and my 3 bridesmaids’ hair and makeup – it was so fun to all be pampered in the morning.
Sarah , Ultimate touch, Wymondham
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Anna, Ragged Robin, Wymondham. She was fabulous! I got obsessed over flowers and Anna changed them for me so many times.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
I put a few rustic bits but mainly just the flowers
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
I made my own place names and wedding favours.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
My best friend and MOH made my wedding cake (she owns a coffee shop) it was amazing. It was a 3 tier vanilla sponge naked cake and quite simple but gorgeous.
On the day tips and advice:
I ordered a huge room and stayed in a hotel the night before the wedding, with my bridemaids the day before we chilled in the spa and then ordered room service in our pj’s. It was so fun and it made it feel like a whole weekend rather than a day. I would recommend!
What’s the best thing about being married?
Its amazing to feel like no matter what happens you will always have someone.
