Autumn weddings have something which warms me to my very heart every time. But Hannah and Rob’s Ufton Court wedding is so very special: the colours, styling and photography are just magical and I know you’re going to love reading about their day.
The flowers are amazing. Hannah told me “I didn’t really know what kind of flowers I wanted so I asked Lindsey [from The White Horse Flower Company] for something autumnal with mulberry and gold. The end result was amazing, and not only did they look great but they smelt incredible too.”
Our couple’s top tip for the day? Spot on: “Let somebody else take control. All of our suppliers had worked at our venue, and together, previously and they were fantastic in ensuring everything ran smoothly.”

How did you choose your photographer?
We found Ben’s details on the Ufton Court suppliers list and knew pretty quickly that we wanted him to be our photographer. We really liked Ben’s relaxed and informal style and it was great that we could have Ben with us for the whole day, from the preparations until the evening reception.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
Yes, Ben and Zoe were fantastic. They have worked at Ufton Court several times before and were really helpful in the lead up to the day explaining how everything would run, and helpful on the day too – even rescuing me when my heel got stuck in a drain cover! All of our guests commented on how friendly they both were which allowed everybody to relax, and Ben and Zoe to capture some great photos.
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
Ben came round to us on the day we returned from our honeymoon and we couldn’t wait to see the photos. We were both so pleased with them and loved looking at all of the details we had missed on the day and reliving our favourite moments again.
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
The best day ever!
Your wedding style or theme:
Autumn with lots of mulberry and gold
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
We used the Ufton Court suppliers list to find nearly all of our suppliers
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
My cousin designed our invitations. We sent her some ideas of designs we liked and she drew us something really lovely and unique
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes! I felt absolutely amazing on the day and would wear it again and again if I could get away with it

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
My shoes were from Rachel Simpson, I’d seen them on a wedding blog and fallen in love with them. I borrowed some earrings from my Mum and my bridesmaid’s veil.
And what did the groom wear? Any recommendations for tailors?
Navy suits hired from Black Tie in Crowthorne. The groomsmen wore gold ties to match the bridesmaids dresses and Rob wore red.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
The dresses were pale gold, shimmery maxi dresses from Miss Selfridge, they were the perfect colour for our autumn theme and they looked beautiful
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
A professional to do hair and makeup, I thought it would be much quicker and easier to ask somebody else to do it for me. We had a really lovely morning getting ready with everyone being looked after by the wonderful hair and makeup artist.
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Lindsey from the White Horse Flower Company and I couldn’t have been happier with the bouquets. I didn’t really know what kind of flowers I wanted so I asked Lindsey for something autumnal with mulberry and gold. The end result was amazing, and not only did they look great but they smelt incredible too.
We also had bowls of heather to line the aisle, and then doubled these up as our center pieces. I really wanted something that we could keep after the wedding and the heathers are now planted in our garden.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
The Tithe Barn and grounds at Ufton Court are wonderful but we did some decorations for the barn. We made some leaf bunting to hang from the beams in the barn, and printed lots of photographs to put on display. The barn already has fairy lights and these looked really lovely in the evening. We were really lucky with the weather so we were able to use the beautiful gardens for our reception following the ceremony.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
Confetti cones and dried petals from my parents garden
We used a carved wood slice for cards and Rob carved our initials into another tree slice for outdoors
Order of the day made from a pallet
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
We had 2 cakes, a three tiered sponge cake and a cheese tower supplied by our caterers. Both were delicious and went down very well with everybody!
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had garden games following our ceremony and a DJ for our evening reception
On the day tips and advice:
