Big Chief Tipis open weekend at Holford Hall in October

I have a confession to make: I avoid big wedding shows like the plague these days. There are only a few wedding events I’d choose to go to… and the open weekend hosted by Big Chief Tipis is one. They’re setting up camp at the historic Holford Hall in Cheshire, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October. If you’re free, and anywhere near Manchester or Cheshire, then GO! It’ll be one of the most exciting and inspiring wedding events of the season.

The weekend will showcase Big Chief Tipis’ unique and high quality wedding tipis. The idea of the open weekend is to give couples an exclusive insight into how a tipi can give their big day a really special touch to make it memorable for all. The tipis themselves can seat more than 500 guests and come in three different sizes allowing couples to mix and match Big Hats, Midi and Baby Tipis to ensure that every wedding experience is bespoke.

There’s more to the open weekend than just tipis though… Big Chief Tipis has also invited some of their favourite suppliers along to the open weekend so you can really see how different styling elements will work with the tipis.

They include caterers Pig and Rhubarb who will be serving their delicious canapés from the tipis. After sampling the delectable nibbles, guests can sample the Beetle Juice cocktail service. Set in 1970s VW campervans, the bars create a cool and relaxed atmosphere, with a variety of concepts to suit every budget and taste.

Adding a fun element to celebrations, couples can draw inspiration from Big Chief Tipis’ friends Something Blue Vintage Hire – photo booths with a vintage twist. The quirky retro caravan comes complete with props and a Polaroid camera to give guests’ wedding pictures that personal feel.

One of mine and Big Chief Tipis’ favourite suppliers Melissa Beattie Photography will also be there to give guests a demonstration of the range of styles she has in her portfolio. Melissa is one of the best wedding photographers on UK shores and her recent photo shoot with Big Chief Tipis has featured in Festival Brides, Brides Up North and Boho Weddings – she’s also had work featured on the hottest international wedding blogs including Love My Dress, Magnolia Rouge and Once Wed – and we LOVE her!

A listed house located in Knutsford, in the depths of the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Holford Hall itself will have representatives on hand to show couples the wedding facilities available.

The Open Weekend will run from 11am – 5pm on each day and ‘Little Chiefs’ will be on hand through the day to answer any tipi related queries!
