Adventures and discoveries are what life for me is all about. I explore as much in my life outside of work as I do for the blog, so when I can combine both I’m super happy! In August I was invited to one of the Lake District’s most charming wedding venues, The Wild Boar near Windermere – and I’ve been telling people ever since how I’ve fallen in love with the place!
I’d heard so much about The Wild Boar. Wedding industry friends rave about it; the atmosphere is enchanting and all of the surroundings are so cosy and quirky. I’d heard about the wedding showcase there last year and am really excited to go along in a few weeks’ time myself (wedding showcase info) – I’d also heard wonderful things about the venue itself, and I had the loveliest time looking around!
Emma is the wedding coordinator at The Wild Boar, and she’s really lovely to chat to. We talked weddings over a cup of coffee with Annabel from the English Lakes Hotels group, and the time flew by… it was wonderful to hear both girls talk with such enthusiasm about the Wild Boar, which really is one of the best venues I’ve seen in all my time as a wedding blogger.

Together with Emma and Annabel I had a nosey into some of the gorgeous rooms – all individually styled and every one with statement antique pieces and pretty contemporary furnishings. We finished in the room I’d be staying in to write this feature: a super luxurious double room with a balcony, huge bathroom and the most amazing oversized copper bathtub… it was incredible.
From this point on I was imagining myself as a bride: staying in the luxury of this gorgeous hotel, getting ready with all my best girls, drinking champagne on the balcony… this place really captures your imagination! …but the best was yet to come.
Dining at The Wild Boar was a real treat. We had a table overlooking the kitchen and enjoyed the finest local food – which is what your guests will love most about this most charming of Lake District venues. I would absolutely recommend sampling the menu and coming to see The Wild Boar in October – and I hope you fall in love with this venue as much as I have done!
The Wild Boar dates back to the 1800s and is very much a family business, which adds to its charm. See a beautiful Wild Boar wedding over on Rock My Wedding blog (gosh I love this soooo much!) and find out more about the venue here:

Huge thanks to lovely Annabel and Emma for inviting us and for showing me around The Wild Boar. I’m so excited to come back soon!
