Never let a wedding blog tell you there are things you need to have: there aren’t. All you need is the two of you – everything else is optional. Clare and Dan’s wedding at 60 Hope Street is simple, minimalist… and all the more romantic for it. The love that shines in their photographs warms my heart. Clare found her wedding suppliers on the internet and through recommendations – and her photographer Rachel Ryan was a super find on Facebook!
There are no needless details in today’s wedding; instead Dan and Clare spent on the things which were more important to them. Photography, of course – and a fabulous dress, quirky venue and stylish wedding invites from Not on the High Street. Flowers were elegant and simple; place settings were pretty and clutter-free. The venue is just gorgeous… watch out for that divine dining table!
Clare and Dan look amazing, and are totally head over heels in love. They had a perfect day – and it went smoothly as can be: Clare advises other couples to “stand back and take it all in. I wasn’t at all stressed about anything and really enjoyed every minute.” And the best thing about being married? “being a special team with my best friend.” Awwww… you two are amazing!

Our venue didn’t need a lot of decoration but I had heart shaped blackboards with #birchbigday on for our guests to tag photos on twitter and instagram. I also used twine and heart shaped blackboard pegs to hang photos of us as children on with the words ‘boy meets girl, and they lived happily ever after’.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Traditional with a quirky topper!
Entertainment was Paul as DJ from www.weddingjam.co.uk and he helped us to do a choreographed first dance. We mashed up Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ with Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’!
