I woke up this morning in the bridal suite of the most luxurious Lake District wedding venue, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world! I haven’t suddenly got married(!) and neither have I eloped… although if I did, this is most definitely where you’d find me.
The beautiful world of Sharrow Bay
Sharrow Bay is England’s very own luxury destination wedding venue. Couples travel a very long way to visit and to be married here – and yet Sharrow Bay is only a short drive from the English Wedding Blog HQ. I live on the edge of the Lake District which Sharrow Bay calls home.
So I haven’t eloped, and this wasn’t a surprise wedding… why was I there? I was invited to Sharrow Bay so I could tell you lovely readers all about it. For once though I’m almost lost for words… this was the treat of a lifetime.
Imagine your dream wedding venue, and then imagine if it was a thousand times more spectacular, welcoming and luxurious than that. That’s Sharrow Bay.
I learned so much about what makes a wedding venue stand out from the crowd yesterday. There’s a secret and a finesse which begins with a warm welcome and continues with ever-increasing wow factor in every room and suite. Sharrow Bay’s lovely team made me feel welcome even before I arrived: they were faultlessly charming on the telephone and their helpful and friendly approach made me feel oerfectly at home – even in such a magnificent place.
Sharrow Bay in a nutshell:
- The very best luxury wedding venue with an inimitable personal touch
- An exclusive location to fall in love with over and over again
- A luxury venue, ideal for intimate weddings and bespoke celebrations
- The finest gourmet foods you could dream of: a foodie paradise (better than L’Enclume!)
- An incredible location with stunning views across Lake Ullswater and the Cumbrian fells
There’s a certain pride in everyone at Sharrow Bay which is testament to the venue being one of England’s very best. Every detail is beautiful (as a calligrapher I was entranced by the craftsmanship in every piece of art and design on display) and every corner and alcove is looked after. It’s a place where you feel at home, a quintessentially English venue with everything you could wish for your wedding day. I couldn’t resist some quick pics of my latest handwritten calligraphy pieces…
Sharrow Bay‘s events manager Ellie gave me a guided tour, which brides- and grooms-to-be are treated to on a venue visit as well. There are apartments and suites to choose from, all of which I could instantly picture as the perfect place for a bride to get ready on the morning of a wedding. Every room I saw had the most exquisite view across beautiful Lake Ullswater – Sharrow Bay is breathtaking both inside and out. I loved every second of my first visit there, and I didn’t want to leave this morning!
I’ll be back to Sharrow Bay – I’m missing the magic I found there already. In the meantime I have some iPhone pics (apologies for my photography skills!) to show you from my visit. I’ll be back with more… but in the meantime if you’re looking for an exclusive use venue which is easy to access from anywhere in the UK, get in touch with Ellie at Sharrow Bay to find out more.
