Can you describe your wedding in a single sentence?
Amazing fun with close family and friends
What was your reaction to seeing your wedding photos for the first time?
We absolutely loved them. Wonderful compositions and some beautiful yet subtle editing. Great unstaged shots of everyone as well.
Your wedding style or theme:
Bohemian and relaxed. An intimate day in a gorgeous setting with natural and environmentally conscious touches.
Where did you find your suppliers?
All sourced ourselves over the internet
Best bit of budget advice?
Prioritise what’s actually important to you, and don’t buy anything that has the word ‘wedding’ attached unless you have to. Be creative and don’t feel you have to follow the norm.
Wedding invitations and on the day stationery:
All designed ourselves and homemade with a creative use of ribbon, lace and stamps
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
I loved my dress. It was quite fuss-free and comfy and I felt amazing when I was wearing it!

A shop bought 3-piece that I’ll continue to wear.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
Beautiful pale-blue shimmer cocktail dresses from Coast. They looked amazing!
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
Hair professional, make-up DIY
Gypsophila for the bridesmaids, wild flower mix for the bride and living lavender table decorations
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
The venue spoke for itself, so just some delicate apple trees with simple fairy lights
DIY – tell us about any handcrafted elements of your wedding…
Everything was handmade from the invitations, table decorations, seating plan, favours
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
A gorgeous carrot cake handmade by family
A local live band throwing a mix of selected covers, followed by DJ set
On the day tips and advice:
Enjoy every moment and try to find time together to really appreciate the day – it’s over so quickly. You will find the time to talk to everyone so don’t worry, and relax: it doesn’t matter if something goes not to plan – it’s part of the experience. For the ladies – schedule an informal make-up and hair check with your bridesmaids before the evening guests arrive.
What’s the best thing about being married?
Honeymoon! Finding a soul-mate to spend the rest of our lives together.
Quick supplier list for other brides and grooms:
Didn’t really have suppliers.
Cripps – the owner of the venue, Stone Barn, were wonderful.
