I still remember a couple of words from my time spent living in Italy as a student* – E bellissima! Che bella! Lo amo… all of which apply to this divine Sicilian rustic inspired wedding styled shoot rather nicely!
*and from photo shoots with lovely Chris Hanley‘s repertoire of Italian accenti…!!
I was thrilled to be asked to send some of my rustic wedding stationery to lovely stylist Lauradana Day of Wedding Creations UK. Lauradana is a rising star in the wedding industry, fuelled by her dedication to bespoke, handmade and meticulously crafted accessories and styling for brides all over the world – she’s worked on weddings in 18 different countries to date!
Lauradana also makes her own beautiful hand dyed silk ribbons, and I have just a few of these saved up for a rainy day to photograph in a mini styled shoot of my own… watch this space!
Elegant rustic shoot: wedding supplier list:
Wedding Creations www.weddingcreationsuk.co.uk for the styling and props
The Vintage Hire Company www.thevintagehire.com for the glassware and props
Table To Dine For www.tabletodinefor.com for the linens
Calligraphy for Weddings (Me!) www.calligraphy-for-weddings.com for the stationery
Vanilla Pod Bakery www.vanillapodbakery.com/ for the wedding cake
The shoot, featured initially on the fab Coco Wedding Venues, involved my newest amazing friend Claire from Garden & Wild. Claire is a superstar: her flowers are shiveringly beautiful and for today’s shoot she used tons of soft, overspilling and seasonal foliage to complement fragrant flowers – the images will make you want to delve into the leaves and breathe it all in!
I owe a huge thank you to Theresa Furey Photography for her elegant and thoughtful images of the shoot. Theresa is sooo talented. She knows just how to capture those finer details – and calligraphy can be tricky to photograph (being dinky!) I only wish I could have been there on the day to see this dream team at work…
The rustic, barely-buttercreamed wedding cake is by the fantastic Vanilla Pod Bakery. Looking at all the elements of this shoot together, I’ve fallen head over heels in love with the idea of a rustic, Italian, herb-infused wedding style and there’s a real danger of me moving into my new house this month (eeeek!) and styling it exactly like this shoot… including having beautiful cakes on the side at all times!! (Will you come and visit?! Do!)
“The calligraphy and kraft stationery is the perfect finishing touch for a rustic wedding style, and it’s really affordable too. Visit Claire’s Calligraphy For Weddings website or her Etsy store to find out more.” ~ Julia Braime, Brides Up North
