Kate and Chris’s wedding is divine: a luxury summer celebration with fabulous white hydrangeas and a marquee reception at Kate’s parents’ farm. It’s beautiful: Kate told me they had lots of help from their families to plan and style the perfect day… and oh, didn’t they just!
The white hydrangeas make a bold statement; Kate’s bouquet is gorgeous. The images are wonderful – Samantha Jane Photography gets a glowing review from the happy couple. “We thought the photos were amazing and really told the story of the day, capturing moments that myself and my husband didn’t always get to see.”

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
If I was going to look at these pictures for the rest of my life I had to get a professional! Help came in the form of Rebecca Frances who made the entire bridal party look amazing.
I am very lucky to have a sister in law who has her own floristry business; I imagine I was the most difficult client she will ever have!
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
Not really, we wanted the beautiful surroundings to be the main feature and to have a relaxed feel. My poor parents and mother in law spent the whole summer growing trees and planting pots that we used to decorate the marquee and surrounding areas.
DIY – tell us about any handcrafted elements of your wedding…
In keeping with the fun feel my incredible sisters made hangover kits which were the favours, my father in law spent the day before the wedding gluing vases to mirrors. All of the signage was made by my in laws, my husband designed all of the stationery and my mum made the card post box. Not to mention a last minute dash by the father of the bride on the morning of the wedding to buy extra vases after an accident with a few of them over night.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Traditional – baked by my mother in law
We had a pianist playing during the reception followed by Motown Gold in the evening. The rodeo bull, bouncy castle and photo booth also provided a lot of drunken entertainment.
On the day tips and advice:
Relax and enjoy it – it goes so quickly, cliché but it really does. Oh and if you are a professional event manager as I am ensure you nominate someone to be the point of contact on the day so that you can relax.
What’s the best thing about being married?
The honeymoon – only joking!
