Hannah and Joseph’s chic London wedding film by HD Moments

It’s movie time! Hannah and Joseph had a gorgeous, London-themed wedding with contemporary styling and beautiful details: I love so many things. The bouquet is divine; Hannah’s Claire Mischevani dress is exquisite; there are tube maps and big red buses, spectacular flowers and an impressive reception venue. Hannah’s also written a lovely wedding report for us and told me, “I know it is a massive cliche but our wedding day was the most incredible, memorable and happiest day of our lives. We couldn’t have wished for it to have been more perfect. With our closest friends and family l there to celebrate with us, it really was our perfect day.

The theme of the wedding was ‘London’. We had iconic London image themes throughout the day, tube map table plans, London buses to transport the guests from church to venue and oyster card holders as favours and of course it was based in London.

The girls got ready at the hotel, The Threadneedles Hotel, in Bank. It was a crazy, busy morning with us all hustling and bustling in and out of bedrooms getting hair and makeup done. But I loved this part of the day. You could feel the excitement in the air.

The make up artist (Brides and Roses) and hair dressers (Sandro and Rita – Shine on the green) photographer (Motiejus – Magnolia Images) were all fantastic. My dress and bridesmaid dresses were all made by the incredible Claire Mischevani back in my hometown in Shrewsbury.

The boys on the other hand got ready at our flat in North London. The ushers and best men all stayed over together and so were able to get ready together in the morning.

The church was in Hampstead called St Stephens, and you must have a civil ceremony in there which is really unusual and was perfect for us. Our friend Sophie Robinson was responsible for dressing the church which looked just incredible. It took my breath away as the doors opened as I was about to walk down the aisle. I was overwhelmed as I walked down the aisle with how much love was in the room with all our friends and family there to celebrate with us.

I remember getting half way down the aisle and looking up and seeing Joey waiting for me at the front. He looked so handsome in his Hugo Boss suit and Paul Smith shoes which he had spent ages picking out.

The ceremony was short and sweet, and perfect and we were both more emotional than I would have ever though we would be.

After the ceremony, Joey and I went to have some pictures taken at the top of Primrose Hill which is where we used to live and where you get the best views of the London skyline. On lazy weekend walks there over the past few years I have always said to Joey that if we ever got married in London I would love a picture in that spot, so it was amazing that we were able to actually do that.

Meanwhile, the guests all piled onto the London buses with champagne at the church and given a tour through London before being taken to our breathtaking venue which was The Royal Exchange. We couldn’t have picked a better venue. The grand entrance, the beautiful architecture, it is steeped with history and yet inside there is the juxtaposition of history meets modernity with the boutique shops. The glass roof over the courtyard means the courtyard is the perfect space for a party.

The flowers were done by Inwater Flowers and were just so beautiful they filled the space perfectly. Kate from Bespoke events ran the day at the venue and everything ran so smoothly and without a hitch.

I work in the food industry so the food and drink was important for me. The caterers were Seasoned Events and they created a bespoke menu for us. We themed it around the places the were really important to us.

The starter was ‘a Shropshire country garden’ (my home county) with a Shropshire blue cheese soufflés.

The main was a ‘Geordie Delight’ (where Joey is from and where we met each other) which was guinea foul confit with a Newcastle brown ale gravy which came in a mini beer bottle.

The dessert was Wimbledon themed as we moved down to London together and where we now live. The desserts were a selection of minis – pimms jelly, strawberries and cream pavlova and mini 99 ice creams in a cone!

It was so funny the way that my maid of honour caught the bouquet – you can see her boyfriend in the background saying ‘oh God no!’

We wanted the day to be light hearted for guests to enjoy themselves and so we couldn’t wait for the party to start. We had ‘sex is on fire’ by kings of Leon as our first dance which got everyone up dancing straight away and we danced non stop until the end. The band and the dj were fab and so the dance floor was never empty.

We chose HD Moments to film the day due to very good recommendations and they were just fantastic. They blended into the background fitting perfectly around both us and the guests. They captured the day in a way that is able to bring our memory of the best day of our lives back to life! We cannot thank them enough!

Joey and I feel so lucky that we were able to have such an incredible day to be the beginning of our married life together and it is thanks to our parents for all their love and support that we could have the day that we did.”
