Today’s blog feature is basically a snapshot of me tumbling head over heels in love with the beautiful wedding stationery I’ve discovered at Oyster & Pearl Design. Join me?
Designer Casey told me, “Oyster and Pearl is essentially me working from my studio in the heart of the Devon countryside. My passion is creating beautiful stationery, this is the reason I decided to start Oyster & Pearl Design. The opportunity to do something I absolutely love, every single day!”
Casey’s designs are understated and simple. She knows how to work fonts into a truly elegant space for invitations, orders of service and every last little bit of your wedding stationery. The presentation on Oyster & Pearl’s website is just delicious… the colours are contemporary, the graphics a delight. Love. And what a story behind the shop! (Read my post about crafting an ‘about’ story to sell your wedding business)
Oyster & Pearl Design began officially after I created designs for my own wedding last year. Before that I have always been busy designing stationery for friends and friends of friends, which has been brilliant. It was only after our wedding that I finally felt ready to take the leap and start up on my own. This has been a dream for a long time and I am so excited to have finally made it a reality. I love every aspect of designing for weddings, from the initial chat with the brides and grooms, finding out what makes them tick, right through to tying the very last bow on their invitations.

So, a little bit about me. I have 10 years’ award-winning design experience in packaging and branding, and during this time I have worked in both London and Bristol. I have been besotted with beautiful paper for as long as I can remember, and I am the very proud owner of an impressive ribbon collection. Although my time working for design agencies has been fantastic, much of my work is for large corporate clients rather than individuals. This is the reason I love designing for weddings so much, the opportunity to work closely with two people to create something really special and personal to them.
Oyster & Pearl works in two ways. Firstly, I offer a completely bespoke and individual service, working with clients to create a design that really reflects their personality and style. Every aspect of the day is considered, from invitations to thank you cards.
The stationery sets the tone for the wedding, so it’s important you get exactly what you want – sometimes an off the shelf design just won’t do.
I can also create a ‘look and feel’ mood-board for the wedding. This can then be used as a creative brief for additional suppliers such as florists and cake makers. This will include suggestions and contacts for the styling and decoration on the day, ensuring a consistent ‘look and feel’ across all aspects of the wedding.
Secondly, still with the aim of providing exceptionally beautiful stationery, clients can select a design from my existing portfolio. This would then be customised to reflect their own style and personality.
All my designs use the finest quality materials. Many use letterpress printing and metallic foils, giving them a timeless quality and something to be treasured.
