Amy and Damian’s rustic spring wedding blog is just beautiful – the freesias in Amy’s bouquet are my favourite flowers (my Grandma used to love them and they remind me of her). Today’s bride and groom are both gorgeous, their day just makes me smile and I adore their images.
Amy dedicated herself to making all of the stationery, invitations and even wooden place names with a personal message to every guest on the back. Family and friends helped out, with even Granddad making wooden birds for the cake stand!
Amy’s dress is divine, by the wonderful Melanie Potro. She looks so incredibly beautiful and wears her Nan’s pearls with diamond earrings given to her by Damian. Amy’s sister is a hair and make up artist so of course she styled Amy’s bridal look – and she looks absolutely stunning. The images are by lovely James Grist Photography, based in Kent.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer?
I was over the moon with our wedding photos and our photographer. James put us at ease on the day and made us feel relaxed having our photos taken. Having the pre wedding shoot was a great idea as it got us used to having our photos taken. http://jamesgristphotography.co.uk/

Best bit of budget advice?
Prioritise what you want to spend most money on and stick to your budget. We spent more on things that we could keep forever rather than bits that only would last the day like the cake and decorations.

Yes it was a Melanie Potro dress and was called Amiee so I thought that as the name was like mine it would be perfect (it was also the first and only dress I tried on)

General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
The venue has a lovely historic look so it didn’t need too much decorating my mother in law made the table decorations
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
I kept the cake traditional and had a 3 tier fruit cake which I worked with my nan mum and aunt to decorate with daisies and butterflies. My grandad also made wooden birds to sit below the cake stand
