Hello everyone! I’m still feeling full of beans and totally inspired by the creative day I had at my favourite Lake District wedding venue on Monday – and I thought you’d like to see what it was all about! I’ll warn you my iPhone camera skills are as wobbly as can be, but I do love to tease and this is a very rough kind of ‘sneak peek’ at what me and my new friends got up to earlier this week!
It’s not often I share behind the scenes secrets on the English Wedding Blog, but seeing this setting transformed with Jamie’s images (VickerstaffPhotography.co.uk) was such a revelation I had to share! All the individual details come together to create one pretty incredible whole… but you’ll have to wait to see how!
If you’re peering at the images and wanting to see more details, you’ll have to wait along with me for the officially gorgeous images by my talented friend Jamie from Vickerstaff Photography – they’re going to be awesome.
Likewise details of dresses and styling tips, DIY tutorials and the finished look from every shot will be revealed in due course when the shoot is officially published. In the meantime I just wanted you to see where I’d been, who I’ve been with and what (more or less!) we’ve been getting up to!
Creating a styled shoot to inspire brides and grooms is an adventure. We all had fun, and that’s what creating a wedding ‘look’ should be about. If you love the creative process then you’ll adore styling your wedding. If it’s not your thing then there are professionals who will do this stuff for you… not me; I’m just there to smash mirrors with my hammer and slash through calligraphy backdrops for extra giggles… but these guys will do you proud!
The team –
Jamie at Vickerstaff Photography
Julia at Julia Tasker Bridal Couture
Kevin at Brackens of Bowness
Gareth at Aqua The Salon
Helen at Definitions Mobile Beauty
Caroline at Caroline’s Cake Company
Christa at Beautifully Vintage
Joanne at Broadoaks Country House
Natasha at Pumpkin and Pye
Joanne at Vintage Twee
Kelsey, our beautiful model
and me, Claire at Calligraphy for Weddings (with my hammer)
I have so much more to show you – we had the most amazing flower stole wrapped around Kelsey’s shoulders; and my iPhone pics don’t show you the wonderful details from my friend Jo at Vintage Twee (because my camera skills let me down!) – but all will be revealed in due course! If the paper and mirrors theme appeals and you’d like to find out more, I’ll tell you all about it on the blog soon – so watch this space!
For now, the biggest thank you to all of the lovely people listed above without whom I couldn’t have even dreamed up this shoot. We had an amazing day, and I left feeling inspired and excited to see the results! I was smiling all day and again it just goes to show what a great team can achieve. I’d thorougly recommend all of these wedding suppliers to brides and grooms – they’re amazing!
