Over the last week or so I’ve been equally intrigued and impressed by something called 20Collective – and I suspect by now you’ve heard about it too! But what is it?! I think it’s on the verge of being pretty big news in wedding photography – and I know couples who investigate 20Collective will like what they see. I know I do.
20Collective is a group of diverse and distinctive wedding photographers. They shoot weddings all around the UK and abroad, and have joined together to bring you a fabulous shared portfolio website. It has the potential to be very powerful: a visual photography-led wedding blog. And there are some very exciting names involved in the project:
20Collective believe in the power of creative photography to communicate, express and inform without hyperbole. Less is more. Each of the 20 photographers are accomplished in their own right with a distinctive shooting style, a client base and pedigree built over years within the industry. Here is an exciting group of creatives who have attained the required standard to come together under this umbrella, providing considered wedding photography both in the UK and overseas.
20Collective is a group of diverse and distinctive wedding photographers. It is not easy choosing the right wedding photographer; styles come and change with the seasons, different terms are used liberally to describe the images – reportage, photojournalism, contemporary, classic, vintage…. but what do these words actually mean? If a picture is indeed worth a thousand words, then perhaps the pictures should be allowed to speak for themselves.
Why you should look at 20Collective wedding photography
Quality is disappearing from the UK wedding industry. We’re overwhelmed with images: Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and blogs mean anyone can share their photography. We’re used to seeing mediocre pics… so quality isn’t always the first priority when choosing a wedding photographer. It should be.
20Collective is a visual site filled with top quality photography. I’ve only shared a handful of their images in this blog feature. Please – if there’s one thing you do today, PLEASE have a look at the 20Collective website. Think twice about your wedding photographer. These guys are based around the UK. They travel all over – from Thailand to Torquay. Don’t hire a local photographer because he’s cheap. Choose a brilliant photographer because he’s part of 20Collective.
