Three years or so ago, if you were looking for a unique wedding venue or something “like a marquee but nicer” – as many couples do! – you’d have headed straight for PapaKata with their warm, welcoming, quirky wedding teepees. I’ve always loved PapaKata tents and I think they really inspired a rush in festival weddings over the last couple of years. And now they have something new and exciting which I think I might just love even more!
PapaKata has just announced a joint partnership with US company Sperry Tents, which will be the first time these iconic, romantic, wedding tents will be available in the UK. Sperry by PapaKata will exclusively launch just in time for the wedding season and will offer guests something completely unique to what is available right now. The tents look like something straight out of The Hamptons, with a Gatsby-esque feel to them. The tents offer a magical experience that is perfect for a summer wedding.
The iconic canopies have been made by the Sperry family for the past 34 years and are created from a unique sailcloth that is beautifully handcrafted to fit curves and peaks. They feature hand-sewn panels of authentic oyster coloured sailcloth and hand-milled pine poles that ooze with elegance and have become a firm fave of Martha Stewart and the renowned Style Me Pretty blog.
Drawing influence from the glamour of The Great Gatsby and Downton refinement, Sperry tents provide a timeless wedding space that will be an unforgettable experience for all of your guests.
PapaKata is a Yorkshire based company which was founded by Richard and Amanda Monaghan in 2006. The story goes that after looking for something different for their wedding day, the couple were finally introduced to teepees and soon came to realise that they wanted to share their experience and love for the katas with other people. And so PapaKata was created and fast became the leading teepee supplier in the UK.
