Behind every gorgeous wedding I feature is a story: a love story, a tale of romance and happiness, and the story of how two people find their soulmates and make a life together. Today is the turn of Paul and Nikki who married in Leeds. They chose David from Vogue Shot Photography to tell the story of their day in pictures, so I’ll hand over to David to introduce them!
In mid February I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of the two most fun and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure working with! Paul & Nikki made their friendly nature and fun personalities very clear for our first meeting – they were a joy to be around. They were searching for a wedding photographer in Leeds and came across my website. Liking my natural and artistic approach they got in touch and arranged a meeting. From the moment I walked through their door I knew I had to shoot their wedding so with a couple of cold beers in hand (Budweiser of course) we talked through all the details of the wedding day.
The actual day of their wedding was amazing and getting to spend time with them was so much fun, from meeting the girls getting ready (swapping the beer for champagne this time though!) to meeting the boys in the local pub and witnessing the worst game of killer pool I have ever seen (the 2nd shot of the game actually hit me!).
It was on to the Church from there: St Johns was the very church that Paul was christened in so it held some family history with it. It was a fantastic service with a few tears, a little joking around and an amazing opera song from one of Paul’s close family friends. The sun came out to greet us as we stepped out of the church and went on to the reception where it was Budweiser time! There were buckets filled with ice and Budweiser every which way you turned and for every shot I took of Nikki she had a bottle of Bud to hand! That’s what I loved about Nikki: a woman who knows what she likes and was not stressing about anything, just enjoying her wedding day the way she wanted to!
