The Sassi Holford 2014 Signature Collection

Hello there lovely blog readers, and a special hug for you if you’re just about to start wedding dress shopping. I hope you have the most wonderful time! I’d love to introduce you to one of my favourite wedding dress designers this morning – the fabulous Sassi Holford. Sassi began her business in Taunton, Somerset – and from small beginnings Sassi Holford is now an internationally renowned wedding dress brand. Her designs are timeless and beautiful, and she’s a favourite of English brides.

Sassi Holford 2014 (12)The Sassi Holford 2014 Signature Collection holds true to Sassi’s reputation for pure elegance and exquisite quality. The delicate detailing is wonderful – the Ruby gown shown above and below is already a favourite for me with those gorgeous little tendrils of lace on the cap sleeves… incredibly beautiful.

The 2014 Signature Collection by Sassi Holford

Sassi Holford works with absolute attention to detail and an uncompromising eye for quality, and each season her collections are individual yet balanced, focused yet inspiring.

The 2014 Collection was launched in London in May to enthusiastic reaction from buyers and the media. The Collection defines classic elegance, achieving this with dramatic silhouettes and exquisite fabrics.

The design emphasis is on femininity: for the bodice the key lines are the elegant portrait neckline and bustier detailing.

Many of the gowns offer coverage on the shoulders and arms as the trend away from strapless continues. Silhouettes should be designed to make a statement – from an impressive ball gown to a flattering column skirt with fluted hem.

During the year Sassi visits European fabric fairs and this season sees her working with a range of impressive textured fabrics in combination with soft, floating fabrics such as fine lace and embroidered tulle.

The gowns are individually handmade in Somerset but chosen by brides the world over. It is an amazing success story for this English designer with over thirty years experience and who, in 2013, has won two major awards.
