Have you had a wonderful year? I do hope so – I know mine has been amazing and I can’t wait for new adventures in 2014. I wanted to take a look back at some of the wonderful couples who were kind enough to share their weddings on the English Wedding Blog over the last year. For new readers, these wedding blog highlights are a lovely way to discover English Wedding. There are weddings of every style here, from all over England and from every month of the year. Enjoy!
Liliya & Adenis were incredible: they arranged their entire wedding within 3 weeks! They wanted a typical Nottingham wedding & so they chose the iconic Nottingham Council House. Images by Gary from wedding photographers oneLove.
See their wedding: a romantic wedding in Nottingham
See their wedding: Tamara and Joseph’s Lympne Castle wedding.
Laura and James’s wedding was absolutely out of this world. They had so many personal touches styled to suit their characters and loves, from music (and lots of it) to playful and gorgeous photography… I LOVE this! Image by London wedding photographer Marshal Gray.

Will and Marianne are among my favourite couples of the year. I know it’s not fair to have favourites, but they planned a secret wedding with only their two children present – and it was incredibly beautiful and romantic. Images by Andrew from Cornwall wedding photographers Travers & Brown.
Emily and Alan made me smile soooo much! Emily is stunning in her Jasmine Couture wedding dress, and Alan was a star groom in a bright. yellow. suit. (There’s a photo to watch out for with a handwritten note from Emily: “I love you even though you look like a bowl of custard”! which is wonderful!) The photos are by Dorset wedding photographer Paul Underhill.
Victoria and David stood out from the crowd with their romantic teepee wedding. A real highlight for me and with beautiful photography by Cambridge wedding photographer Andrew from Lightworks Photography.
Simon and Gemma’s wedding was wonderful – Gemma’s bridal style stole my heart (and there were some cheeky photos with a gorilla which made me chuckle!). Gemma wore a beautiful Christina Sposa dress and I adore her art deco style. Images are by my friend and sponsor the lovely Joseph Hall.
Melissa and Jamie included dozens of handmade touches in their wedding styling – oh! and Melissa made her own wedding dress – which is stunning. Images are by lovely Shaun Taylor Photography.
Abi and Mikael had an outdoor wedding in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. I’ll always remember blogging their wedding – Abi’s advice made me smile so much! A wonderful couple – and tons of ideas I think you’ll love! Images by wedding photographer Paul Fletcher.
Jeremy and Wiz are another star couple I’ll never forget – their wedding is just so beautiful, and Wiz looks stunning in her Jenny Packham dress – her second choice, as she discovered she was pregnant in the run up to the wedding! They give some great advice in their wedding report, including a tip about fishing! Images by wedding photographer Kristian Leven
Kate and Adam’s vintage literary wedding is one of my top five from 2013 – a fantastic couple who used vintage books to style their wedding in the most beautiful way. Kate looks incredible in her dress by Ronald Joyce, and the images by the fabulous Chris Hanley Photography are out of this world.
I loved Lois and Gary’s approach to their big day: more personal than conventional, no stuffy rules or etiquette, just fun and laughter and love. That’s how a wedding should be! The stunning couple married at Friern Manor in Essex with images by David Walker Photography.
