Morning! I’m typing delicately this morning with a little plaster on my finger – I have an actual blogging injury from too much typing hehe!! But it won’t stop me bringing you today’s beautiful Northamptonshire wedding courtesy of another very beautiful bride, the lovely Kirsty and her gorgeous groom Matt. Their wedding at Pipewell Hall is full of ideas, lovingly crafted and as Kirsty herself will tell you, a dream wedding brought to life!
Watch out for gorgeous flowers, a fab sweetie table, cute table names and lots of DIY touches to inspire your own big day. With thanks to Kirsty and Matt (congratulations to you both!) and a big hug to say thanks to wedding photographer Georgi Mabee who just knew this wedding would be perfect for the English Wedding Blog. Enjoy!

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? What was your reaction to seeing your wedding photos for the first time?
Yes very much so! It brought tears to our eyes reliving our wedding day again with all our special moments captured forever for us to relive whenever we want!
Stoke Albany Church, Northamptonshire & Pipewell Hall, Pipewell, Northamptonshire
Can you describe your wedding in a single sentence?
All our dreams come true in one truly perfect day
Your wedding style and theme:
Girly, pretty, pastels, vintage, shabby chic
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
Our venue was a large marquee set in the grounds of a beautiful hall with a backdrop of a lake. The surroundings and setting were already beautiful but the marquee was a blank canvas which was perfect and just what I had always wanted for our wedding day.
I had always known exactly how I wanted our special day to be and the marquee was perfect for this and for really making the venue feel like our own and very unique. I planned all the styling myself with help from Matt and family and friends but because I had always known how I wanted the day to be it was just a case of finding everything!
A lot of it was handmade, including the bunting, hessian runners, signs etc etc, a lot of help and support was given to us from our nearest and dearest including the day before the wedding when cars arrived filled with box after box and we set up the empty marquee transforming it into the wedding I had always dreamed off!
Any happy tears on the day?
Yes – lots! From me and Matt but also family and friends too!
How long did you spend planning your wedding?
About a year and a half.
Best bit of budget advice?
Try to think of every little detail and talk to previous brides if you can! There is so much that goes into a wedding that you don’t think of until your planning your own. It is not just, the venue, food, photographer, and dress, there is so much more that I had never even thought of. I would sit down and write a list of your perfect wedding and what that entails and always over estimate as chances are you will definitely go over the figure you have in mind!

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes I did! I had the fairytale story too as it was the first dress I tried on and shouldn’t have even been in the shop, it was only in there by chance when I happened to have my appointment so it felt like it really was meant to be and just for me!

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
My sister/chief bridesmaid and one of my other bridesmaids are professional hair stylists so did my hair for me. It was lovely having two people who are so special to me do my wedding hair. They really knew me and my style and what I had always envisioned on my special day – it was everything and more I’d ever imagined and stayed in place all day!
My make up was done professionally too by our best man’s sister so again I knew and trusted her. Just like my hair I was so pleased with my wedding make up, I felt like a princess all day right till the very end of the night with my make up still perfect after many kisses, hugs and tears!
We had one bible reading from Matt’s cousin, ‘Corinthians 13, Love Is…’ and 2 of my close friends both did a separate reading. The first read a poem she had made up herself called ‘Forever by your side’ a very true and heartfelt poem about me and Matt and the second read ‘The truth about forever’ another beautiful and touching poem.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Traditional yet unique. We went for a traditional 3 tiered wedding cake with a lace and rose design with our initials in the middle tier + vintage cupcakes featuring the lace and rose design too.
On the day tips and advice:
I know everyone says it but really do take a step back to take it all in and think ‘this is my wedding day!’ as even now it feels like it could have been a dream!
What’s the best thing about being married?
Nothing has changed too much as we already lived together apart from we now share the same name which I love and are now husband and wife which again I can’t get enough of saying! This and the fact we have created the most magical memories to last a lifetime!
