My Favourite Wedding Venue – Wasing Park, by Martin Price Photography

Hi everyone! I have a lovely wedding venue review for you today, from a real expert – Berkshire wedding photographer Martin Price. I always love reading photographers’ verdicts on venues, as they see everything. Your wedding photographer is the ideal person to ask if your venue has happy staff, beautiful photo opportunities, excellent catering and a professional team who’ll look after you… so it’s nice to hear Wasing Park is Martin’s favourite wedding venue. (It’s one of mine too, for the photos I’ve seen!)

Wasing Park - 18th Century Parish ChurchAs a wedding photographer I get to work at many fabulous and varied venues, from castles to manor houses and mansions to cow sheds. Yes, you did read that correctly. It was a cow shed on the bride’s father’s farm which I’m sure was never as luxuriously decorated when the cows were allowed in!

I often get asked which is my favourite venue. It’s so tricky to pick just one, but if I really had to then it would have to be Wasing Park. Set in rural West Berkshire, the Wasing estate boasts everything you could possibly need for your wedding, all at the one location. Having everything at the one place for your big day removes a little bit of the stress, no worries about the wedding car being delayed or getting stuck in traffic and you gain more time to spend with your guests.

Wasing Park has the Ceremony Barn, also known as the Garden Room, for civil services. It’s a modern building with two fully glazed walls that can open up if required.

Or if the weather forecast looks good then why not have the service outdoors at the beautifully mural decorated summer house?

Just a very short walk from the Ceremony Barn and Summer House is a lovely 15th Century parish church for an Anglican wedding/blessing service.

The dramatic 18th century Castle Barn is the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast and reception.

The grounds at Wasing are perfect for the formal portraits too, with a mix of gardens and open parkland available.

The accommodation at Wasing doesn’t disappoint either and they have one of the biggest honeymoon suites you’ll find anywhere.

I hope you can see why I picked this lovely place as my favourite venue!
