Morning lovely! Oooh it’s so cold! I’m starting to collect gloves and mittens… every time I go shopping I forget them, and buy a new pair… and now I’m tempted to put them all on at once! Brr. But my typing fingers won’t be defeated as I have the most beautiful wedding at Stancliffe Hall to share with you. It’s a venue I haven’t shared on the English Wedding Blog before (but you can see more Derbyshire weddings here) – and it’s pretty special. A Grade II listed hall with some fabulous contemporary touches, it’s the perfect setting for Joanna and Darron’s super chic wedding.
The bride and groom are gorgeous and the love in their eyes just sparkles – I adore the sunlit images, and the colours in Joanna’s bouquet are fabulous. You’ll love it. But my favourite bit? It’s that cake. There’s just something sooo tempting about naked cakes, isn’t there?! Anyway – you’ll love all of today’s beautiful wedding.
Big congratulations to Joanna and Darron, and huge thanks to lovely wedding photographer Hannah from Lifeline Photography. Enjoy!
Joanna and Darron – a nature-loving couple’s chic wedding at Stancliffe Hall, Derbyshire

Hannah – Lifeline Photography
Hannah was fantastic and her style completely matched our wish for natural and relaxed photographs. We had met with her for an engagement photo shoot before the wedding and were put completely at our ease (crucial for two people who hate being in front of the camera!) She was also invaluable in helping the bridesmaid dressing the bride!! http://lifelinephotography.co.uk
A little about the wedding ceremony:
I arrived to Amazing Grace but we had to switch it off as I arrived at the door of the chapel as it has “religious content”. This is something we discovered just 30 minutes before the wedding!!! We had a civil ceremony in a beautiful wooden chapel with 65 guests. It was emotional!!!

Tell us a little about your wedding venue styling and details:
Stancliffe Hall needs little adding to it as it is such a stunning venue. All styling was done by us with a natural theme to reflect our love of nature and walking. The tables were decorated with leaf skeletons and silver birch hearts. The cake was fabulous – layers of sponge with fruits – not a hint of Royal Icing in sight.
Invitations and reception stationery:
We were very fortunate to have great friends who are graphic designers who prepared everything for us
Wedding music and entertainment:
Band: The Dog House – had everyone on the dancefloor. A lead singer with a voice like Bono!
What did you both wear?
Bride (dress, shoes, accessories):
I wore an A line ivory dress but my favourite item was the shoes – Jimmy Choos! Loved loved loved them! Jewellery was provided by my step-mother – a wonderful diamond necklace and earrings set and the bracelet was a gift from the groom
Darron hired a morning suit, which he wore with a handmade cravat and some wicked shoes!
Wedding day advice:
Don’t get stressed! Everything will be fantastic on the day and little things shouldn’t be allowed to become big things!!!
