Hi everyone! Just a quickie this morning as I’m catching up after visiting my brand new nephew yesterday. He’s the cutest little thing… so perfect and tiny. I’m now a proud Auntie to Matthew Aidan, and even prouder of my little sister and her husband for becoming someone’s Mummy and Daddy. So forgive me for a short but sweet* blog feature today!
*Sweet is, of course, the key word here. I was given the delightful task of reviewing delicious samples from The English Cheesecake Company a few weeks ago. They very kindly sent me some mini cheesecakes and then cheesecake cupcakes which I’ve already shown you on the blog. In a nutshell, these were gorgeous and I’d happily recommend them for your wedding if you’re not into having a traditional tiered fruit cake.
White chocolate truffle cheesecake review
The final part of my review is for their white chocolate truffle cheesecake. Where the mini cakes were creatively decorated, this was a more understated and simple cake. If you love the idea of cheesecake for your wedding but would rather add your own creative flair then this one is for you!
The cake was lovely and sweet, and the white chocolate topping was delicious. My top tip would be to serve this cake with strawberries, raspberries or autumn berries if you can. The sweetness might be a little much for some guests, and the berries will go beautifully (and make lovely decorations as well!)
The English Cheesecake Company are offering a free 8″ sample cake of your choice on their website – click to find out more on their weddings information page. There are other flavours available – you can even mix and match flavours by tier… imagine a tower of cheesecakes with strawberries, Oreos, white chocolate and champagne… yum!
I’ve mentioned delivery before, but as a quick reminder: the cheesecakes arrive frozen, in a polystyrene box very securely taped and packed with dry ice. It’s impressive and an adventure taking the delivery! There’s more information about delivery on my earlier review post here. Order in plenty of time, as all of the cheesecakes have a very long date on them – mine arrived in early summer and the use by date was December! Better to have your cheesecake a few weeks early than arrange for delivery at the last minute.
