Ceri takes my breath away – a beautiful bride with the most amazing wedding dress. She and Paul were married just a few weeks ago in a rustic wedding celebration at Denham Waterski Club in Buckinghamshire – a secluded and privately owned Scandinavian log clubhouse within a woodland site, on a sheltered lake. It’s just wonderful!
The images of Ceri and Paul’s day have been kindly supplied by lovely Lola Rose Photography. (See more on the blog here.) I adore their rustic styling with fresh and light colours – all the ivy adds a traditional touch to the beautiful tables. Watch out for the blackboard, which made me smile! Huge thanks to lovely Ceri and Paul for sharing their wedding story and supplier list with us today, and thank you to Kelly from Lola Rose Photography for submitting the images. Everyone – you’ll adore this. Enjoy! And have a fab day. Claire xxx

How long did you spend planning your wedding?
Best bit of budget advice?
We did an online budget planner on Hitched it was our lifeline. You could constantly edit it and use it on your phone as well.
Invitations and stationery:
Our invites were designed by a talented family member and printed with Printed.com
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes I loved my wedding dress I couldn’t have been happier with it. I wanted a vintage style dress and this was Art Deco inspired, it was perfect.
Glitz and sparkle: the bride’s accessories:
The groom wore:
A grey suit that was made by Perfectly Groomed. It was accessorised with an ivory waistcoat and a vanilla cravat which we hired. He also wore patent shoes by Vouet.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
Dresses were Ebony Rose ‘Monica’ in Pistachio. This style of dress was a godsend, it suits all body types. The satin piece around the middle gave the girls great waistlines and they were really happy in them! They all wore different style nude shoes as the dresses were floorlength and the girls were all different heights. 5ft 1- 5ft 9!
Jewellery: pearl drop earrings and matching bracelets.
Handbags: Nude satin clutch with diamantes
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
I hired professionals for our hair and my make up was done by a friend, who’s a make up artist
We wanted our flowers to be country themed and not too formal. We found all the images we loved on Pinterest and used these for reference. I wanted a cascading bouquet like my nan had. It had vendella roses in it which were beautiful and matched the colour of my dress.
The bridesmaids’ posies had babies breath and lace wrapped around the stems decorated with a brooch. The reception flowers were in country jugs and were mainly wildflowers. We wanted them to look like somebody had picked them from a country
garden. We had a marquee so the flowers being in water all day was perfect for them.
We used the bridesmaids’ posies as flowers for the top table by putting small glass vases out for them. A great way to use them again without paying for more flowers to decorate the table!
On Your Wedding Day (Anon)
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
We had a marquee so we chose everything from the chairs to the dancefloor. It was great to have exactly what you wanted but it involved more decisions and logistics. The marquee drapes made the venue look beautiful straightaway. We used ivy to decorate alot. We had birch slices as table centrepieces, jam jars decorated in lace & organza with candles inside, a birdcage, picnic hamper for cards and vintage style glassware we bought at a car boot.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Our cake was quite quirky. Again we used Pinterest to help us decide on what we wanted. It had a rough icing finish which made it look country rustic
We had a band ‘The Honeymooners’ who were brilliant, they had everybody up on the
dancefloor and played our first dance for us
On the day tips and advice:
Allocate somebody the task of getting the both of you together to get for at least 5 minutes alone with each other.
