Retro sweet wedding favours from The Gobstopper – a review

Morning everyone! Who’d like one of my sherbet strawberries? Wish I could hand them out and share with you all! I’ve been eating them on your behalf – of course! – as the guys from retro sweet shop The Gobstopper asked me to tell you about their options for wedding favours and candy buffets. They have a cool range of retro sweets along with glass jars and paper bags for your wedding favours and candy buffets.

I couldn’t resist a little photo shoot – those of you who follow me on Facebook will know I got photobombed in the process! The kilner jar from The Gobstopper is filled with sherbet strawberries and kola cubes (I ate all the rhubarb and custards, oops!) – and you get a nice amount of sweeties for your money.

It’s great that they send the jars too – so for candy buffets everything arrives ready for your wedding – no need to measure your own sweets into jars to display.

Wedding favours from The Gobstopper

You can buy retro sweets as wedding favours from The Gobstopper complete with little paper bags, and all you need to do at home is add little tags (I can help with those if you like! See my Etsy shop!) with your guests’ names on. You get to choose your own retro sweets from a pretty exhaustive selection.

Retro sweets in jars for your candy buffet

The Gobstopper is even better when it comes to candy buffets. They have a handful of different sizes and styles of glass jars – the classic Kilner jars come in different sizes, and they also have retro jars with screw tops. Mine arrived with a named thank you label (shown above). Adding a ribbon and tag will personalise your jars for your sweetie table.

Choosing your sweets is the best part! The Gobstopper offer a ‘click and mix’ service – God, I love the internet! – so you can choose from all your childhood favourites and coordinate your jars if you like… I tried a jar filled with sherbet strawberries, rhubarb and custards and kola cubes. It looked fab all in red, and I can assure you they taste as good as they always did! (Especially the rhubarb and custards, which sadly don’t appear in my photos…)

… and finally, a little thank you from me to the guys from The Gobstopper – I love their quirky little labels, but I do think my calligraphy tags look fab on those kilner jars too!

Bye for now everyone, I’m off to finish my sweets. Have a fantastic day!
