Tania and Mark’s beautiful English country wedding in Suffolk

Hi everyone! I have a really beautiful wedding to share with you again today. Tania and Mark’s style is that of a typically English wedding – just the right amount of frills but no fuss; a gracefully styled day with love, friends and family taking centre stage. The sun shone, the cows came out to see what was going on, the marquee looked glorious and the bride is a beauty. Together Tania and Mark make a gorgeous couple – and their wedding in Suffolk should inspire a few of you I’m sure!

How long did you spend planning your wedding?

12 months

Best bit of budget advice?

We created our own invites and stationery which was hard work but probably saved near to £700. We also sourced our own bar for the evening, which made it cheaper for everybody attending.

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

Many many were looked at! Tania eventually chose the first one she saw!

Glitz and sparkle: the bride’s accessories:

Pearl Necklace
Pearl Earrings
Watch and Bracelet

The groom wore:

Traditional wedding suit without tails, dashes of pink in waistcoat to go with general “pink” theme.

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

Pink dresses

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

Professional

Wedding flowers:

Roses for bouquets, large cocktail vases for flower arrangements

The ceremony:

St. Peter’s Church in Charfield. Approximately 100 people attended.

Wedding readings?

Yes, 1. Read by my son, Samuel. He read the traditional Colossians 3:12-17

General styling – did your venue need much decoration?

Yes! As it was a marquee all decoration was done by friends and family the day before.

The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?

I would like to think a combination of both.

Entertainment:

The Gifted” live band and Disco (Monitor Music)

On the day tips and advice:

  • Do your utmost to meet everybody there! No matter how short your time is with them
  • Try to spend as much time together with your partner as you can on the day
  • Set times and try and stick to them. People (e.g. with small children) need times to work against!
