You and Your Wedding UK magazine review

UK Wedding Magazines: The Review: You & Your Wedding

You & Your Wedding came out top in my comparison of UK wedding magazines. With top quality features, shoots and advice for brides (and a nod to grooms!) this would be the wedding magazine I’d buy above all the others.

UK wedding magazine review You and Your WeddingArticles in You & Your Wedding magazine are beautifully written, sensitive and interesting. For example, ‘Clamour for Glamour’ talked about a bride’s decision not to wear make up on her wedding day. It was a really positive piece of writing and won me over for putting across an alternative opinion.

Through the magazine advice features with input from Penny Cullen (Tigerlily) and Mark Niemierko kept the inspiring ideas coming – and they were different ideas which appealed to me: creative and imaginative.

Other articles discussed etiquette – not the strict and formal rules but more useful questions about wording invitations and children at weddings.

The article for grooms was a nice story… although I’m not convinced it was actually written for the guys to read – more an entertaining piece for brides!

You & Your Wedding is a magazine with everything: inspiration and advice, articles and real weddings. It’s well written, nicely designed and a quality publication. The best UK wedding magazine!

Definitely agree – my favourite of the big weddding magazines, great features, gorgeous real weddings and even the ads seem prettier too 🙂

Thanks Katy, I think we’re the exact fit for the Y&YW demographic! x

  • im going to be honest here and say im very confused as to what the point of this series is. are you trying to backtrack from when you got in trouble for burning a magazine and slagging them all off?

Ha, Kat – there’s a bit more to it than that. The series is for brides, grooms and potential advertisers: anyone out there wondering what the differences are between mags, which is best for them, for their purposes whether that means finding affordable product ideas or an appropriate place to advertise their wares.

The introductory post to the series explained my reasons for the series – yes, I was too hasty to judge the mags as a whole in that old blog post and wanted to reeducate myself as well. So in a sense I suppose this is backtracking. I messed up, I listened, I’ve changed my mind about things I’ve said before. But this isn’t about me – it’s intended as a resource for brides and later for businesses.

If it isn’t useful, then fair enough! Just as English Wedding isn’t to everyone’s tastes I’m sure, the reviews won’t appeal or make sense to everyone. Perhaps they don’t work as individual daily blog posts and should have been a group of pages.

      Claire x
