Wedding photographer Rebecca Honeywell’s review of Goldsborough Hall
Rebecca says, “Goldsborough Hall is a gorgeous stately home set in beautiful grounds, with views over the North Yorkshire countryside. Brides and grooms have the luxury of having the whole venue to themselves, with exclusive use of the house and grounds for the day – you feel like a king and queen!
I have the unique viewpoint of both wedding photographer and bride, as I was one of the first people to have my reception at Goldsborough Hall in July 2007. We chose the venue as we loved the grand yet intimate feel, and we were not disappointed. There are several luxurious bedrooms for the bride (and groom) to get ready in, complete with sunken baths overlooking the gardens!
From a photographer’s point of view Goldsborough Hall is fantastic, on a lovely day there are so many places for photographs of the couple in the gardens, and even if it’s raining (which it was on my wedding day!) it doesn’t matter if you don’t step foot outside – the interior is light and beautiful and there is no shortage of space.
Goldsborough Hall is perfect for a couple looking for an impressive venue that they will have all to themselves.”
From the Goldsborough Hall website
Goldsborough Hall is a venue that is both unique and unforgettable!
The Hall and its grounds are available for hire on an exclusive basis throughout the year and should you wish to spend the first night of your marriage in a royal residence, there are a number of magnificent bedroom suites in the main house.
Couples can also consider getting married in the church (Church of England) adjoining the Hall, with its own private royal entrance to the Hall. The 13th-century church is Norman in origin and could also be considered for a blessing.

Venue interesting information
In 2005 the Hall was saved from developers and purchased by local couple Mark and Clare Oglesby (the youngest son of the famous salmon angler Arthur Oglesby) who, with children Lucy and Charlotte and Hungarian sheepdog George, returned the Hall once more to a privately owned family residence.
Clare and head gardener Ray Farrer have worked hard on the extensive gardens and Goldsborough Hall are having the first ever snowdrop day on the 20th of February. They’re “keen to attract Galanthophiles and gardeners with a keen interest in snowdrops” (answers on a postcard please 😉
