Sometimes there’s just one thing about a wedding that really catches me out, takes my breath away, fires my imagination and sets my heart to spinning around in my tummy – such is the case with this beautiful London wedding.
Matt and Katie were married in September at Lauderdale House in Highgate, London. Their wedding was totally unique to them, and Katie’s dress completely steals the show for me as a wedding blogger… she looks ethereal, beautiful, like the heroine from a long lost romantic faerie tale. I adore the dress, and I love the photographs of this wonderfully relaxed and unconventional wedding celebration.
Katie and Matt make a great couple – you can see from the laughter all around, the loving looks and intimate moments they share throughout the day. The wedding day is inspiring too: a little bit quirky, beautifully elegant and entirely captivating. Enjoy the photographs submitted by wedding photographer Peter Burkwood of Pictures in Pixels.
I love the wedding rings: simple, sleek and understated. Right up my street.
Lauderdale House was built in 1582 for the Lord Mayor of London and has a rich history and beautiful location. Set in 29 acres of parkland at Waterlow Park on Highgate Hill, it’s an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Matt looks fantastic and I love that he has his own style. Your day, your way, right?I like his cravat and open collar – great to see a groom wearing something so individual.
Katie is stunning, elegant, sophisticated… and carries off the most amazing wedding dress! This is how to do an alternative and individual wedding ceremony – in an ethereal, floaty, spectacular creation like this!
Katie’s wedding dress is exquisite – perfect for her willowy figure, floaty and delicate with layers and layers of silky gossamer fabrics and a sparkly belt. I love that she’s chosen a dress that suits her so perfectly, and I think she’s breathtakingly beautiful.
Matt and Katie had hired an old London bus to transport guests from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast and reception.
(There’s no point hiring a fab bus like this if you don’t get to play on it, right? And any excuse to show off that fabulous dress!)
Matt never stops smiling and laughing throughout the day – a happier groom I’ve yet to see!
This is the perfect alternative wedding day for me. I love the individuality of Matt and Katie’s wedding ceremony and reception, from the dress to the atmosphere of celebration that spills over in the photographs of the wedding breakfast and toasts.
