I think we’re there. I think the UK has caught up with the US as far as wedding blogs go. I could name about fifty, and those are just the periphery of what’s out there. We have a thriving wedding blog scene and it’s one to be proud of!
And do you know what? I reckon wedding blogs in the UK live up to our reputation, the whole ‘Cool Britannia’ thing, pretty damn well.
The top UK wedding blogs
Legendary Rock n Roll Bride epitomises what’s fab about UK attitudes and style: never mind that Kat features plenty of weddings from the US, her personality makes for a blog that really stands out – the cool, alternative one.
Then there’s Love My Dress. One of the world’s fashion capitals alongside Paris and Milan, I think Annabel captures a whole new segment of UK wedding culture with her ultra stylish and always pretty wedding fashion blog.
Rock My Wedding
We can of course stand up to the big guys in the US with the wedding blog I think of as ‘the professionals’ – otherwise known as Rock My Wedding. With a penchant for wedding DIY and enough categories to keep you entertained for hours, Charlotte and Rebecca have a legion of loyal fans.
And I mustn’t forget Staggered – the wedding blog for boys. This is something that hasn’t – to my knowledge – worked in the US, a blog full of boys’ jokes and funny wedding stories – with sound advice for the boys thrown in.
The new UK wedding blog world
The real proof of the success of the UK wedding blog scene though, is the crowds of brides and wedding planners who are pouring their hearts and souls into blogging about weddings.
I know more planners than I can count who have successful and inspiring wedding blogs now, and there are some amazing brides out there telling the stories of their wedding planning with humour and a real desire to share with the rest of us.
So – we’ve made it. The UK has a great wedding blog scene. It’s cool.
