English weddings… Yorkshire… summertime… I think I went all summer without mentioning the rain, but let’s face it here in the UK we do get the odd shower, we love to talk about the weather and we can always make the most of things.
This wonderful wedding from Tierney Photography has a few umbrellas and hundreds of huge smiles – I love everything about it!

Joanna keeps an eye on the weather and I can't take my eyes off that dress - layers and layers of flowing lace - wow. She looks fantastic.

A favourite photo for me, Joanna poses on a chaise longue - perfect. Bridal portrait by Tierney Photography
(I can only apologise for my childishness: I play people snap sometimes when I’m out. On seeing Liam and his brother I almost shouted ‘snap’ out loud! It’s as if he brought a spare. Don’t they look great?
Joanna’s dad walked her down the aisle of All Hallows Church, Almondbury where he’s the minister.

Joanna and Liam, bride and groom. Liam looks great; Joanna looks out of this world. Congratulations!
… if I was allowed, I’d spend weekends touring the country, turning up at weddings and giving out prizes. Joanna’s mum wins Best Hat. (Thanks Michelle 😉
The weather lives up to expectations of the very best English summer day, and brollies come out for the photos, which are taken under a convenient tree in the rectory garden.
Best Action Shot.
The Turnpike Inn wedding venue on Rishworth Moor in Yorkshire is a gorgeous location with an intriguing history! It overlooks a reservoir and caters for wedding receptions for up to 150 guests.

The best man makes his speech - I did a double take first time I saw this photo, I thought he was Liam!
Best Lookalike. / Best Man!
I learned from photographer Mark Tierney that Joanna and Liam had been trekking in Nepal, as far as the Everest Base Camp! So a little stroll on the moors in a light rain was easy… and the photographs from this moderately adventurous excursion are exquisite!

I love the way Joanna's wedding dress stands out against the cloudy sky, with the vibrant landscape looking so alive!

Back at the reception, it's all glorious colours and fun: blowing bubbles at a wedding. (The guy opposite will notice in a minute)
Thanks to Mark from Tierney Photography for submitting this wedding for the blog. It’s the first rainy wedding I’ve featured and I must admit I LOVE rain!
Joanna and Liam weren’t fazed by a bit of drizzle, and I think their wedding photos are memorable and original and somehow beautifully atmospheric for those cloudy, misty skies.

Fab set of images in what looks like testing conditions 🙂 Marks camera angles and cropping are on the money. The bubbles image is a fab capture and the lady with the walking stick taking a snap looks like she knows what shes’s doing. Camera held vertically 🙂
Well done Mark, and thanks for blogging Claire.
